Swisher (knee) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Saturday, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
Swisher's knee issues have cost him most of the 2015 season, but he'll finally return to the majors following a trade to the Braves. It's unclear what role he'll serve with his new club, but he could see playing time in both the outfield and at first base.

Swisher (knee) has been traded to the Braves along with Michael Bourn.
Swisher, Bourn, and cash considerations are all headed to Atlanta in exchange for Chris Johnson. The 34-year-old Swisher has been working his way back from a stint on the disabled list due to knee inflammation, but hasn't played in a big league game since June 12. Swisher is due to make $15 million in 2016, with a $14 million vesting option for 2017; however, the Indians will be sending $10 million to the Braves as part of the deal.

Swisher (knee) had three hits Sunday and will rejoin the Indians after his rehab assignment ends Saturday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Indians are hopeful that Swisher will be close to 100 percent when his rehab assignment wraps up but don't be surprised if the Indians ease him back into action initially.

Swisher (knee) will be re-evaluated after playing in back-to-back games Sunday and Monday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The Indians are looking for Swisher to handle a full nine innings on consecutive days before considering a possible return. Swisher struggled to start the season but a slumping Cleveland offense could use any help they can get right now.

Swisher (knee) will move his rehab assignment to Double-A Akron on Thursday after receiving a day off Wednesday, MLB.com reports.
The Indians don't want to have to pigeon-hole Swisher into the DH spot upon his return so he'll need to show he can play the outfield effectively during his rehab assignment. He's been sidelined since June 12.
Wed Jul 22 201509:00Swisher (knee) progressing well in rehab
Swisher (knee), who had two hits in his first rehab appearance Monday and was scheduled to play the outfield Tuesday, is progressing well in his rehab, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "It sounded like he did well," said manager Terry Francona. "The challenge or the goal is for him to start playing back to back and bouncing back. That will be really exciting when that starts to happen."
The Indians won't rush Swisher back this time around so a return before the first of August seems unlikely.

Swisher (knee) will take batting practice at Single-A Lake County on Saturday before beginning a rehab assignment there on Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
Swisher will serve as the DH at Lake County to begin his rehab assignment before working his way towards playing in the field. After being out for over a month, it remains to be seen how long of a rehab assignment Swisher will need before rejoining the Indians.

Swisher (knee) worked out in right field prior to Wednesday's game and will do so again Friday but remains without a timetable for a possible return, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. "We want to get him back to where he's the best he can be," said manager Terry Francona. "I don't know if anyone knows what that is, including Swish."
Swisher has been limited to just 30 games since August 20 of last year due to a pair of knee surgeries. He's certainly won't head out on a rehab assignment until after the All-Star break.

Swisher (knee) has resumed some baseball-related activities but still remains without a firm timetable for a return, MLB.com reports. "He's moving around pretty well," manager Terry Francona said. "Again, we'll see where this takes him this week. And there's always that fine line where you give a guy a little break and he came back and looks good, and as you start to increase the volume, does it get better? Does it even off? Does it get worse? But he's doing a good job right now."
Swisher, who landed back on the DL on June 14, figures to need a rehab assignment before coming off the DL. Don't be surprised if the Indians hold him back until after the All-Star break given his abbreviated return earlier this season.

Manager Terry Francona said Swisher (knee) received an injection Monday, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
Swisher was placed on the disabled list Sunday with the malady, and the Indians likely aren't of mind to rush him back. He's sitting on a sub-.200 average over 101 at-bats this season, and was already losing out on regular starts to David Murphy before the injury set in. The injection should help address any inflammation Swisher might be experiencing, but it's unlikely to do much to rejuvenate the 34-year-old, who has contributed a -2.2 WAR over the last two seasons.

Swisher was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday with left knee inflammation, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
With the Indians calling up top prospect Francisco Lindor, Swisher will head to the DL in a corresponding move, in what may be more of a phantom injury than an actual knee injury. Even when ostensibly healthy this season, Swisher has been awful, delivering a .198/.261/.297 line across 111 plate appearances. Once he returns from the DL, Swisher may not have an everyday spot waiting for him, as David Murphy had already begun to cut into his duties as the Tribe's primary DH.
