Pietrus has been dealing with a variety of ailments this season. The swingman also revealed that he wants his long-term future to be with the Celtics, but that thought is on the back burner for now as the team looks to advance in the postseason. We should have an update on Pietrus after shootaround.

Mickael Pietrus was scoreless in 19 minutes in Tuesday's Game 2 despite drawing the start at shooting guard.
Pietrus was pulled out of the game by Doc Rivers following a questionable pass on a fast break, and he looked to be pretty upset about the decision on the bench. Ray Allen talked with him on the bench and Pietrus returned for the fourth quarter, but Pietrus has zero points in this series and the Celtics will need him to be better than that.

Mickael Pietrus (knee) returned to action on Thursday, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting (including a three) with two rebounds and one steal in just under 20 minutes off the bench.
Pietrus will need to provide solid backup minutes for the Celtics if they have any thoughts on winning the title. E'twaun Moore scored eight points with four rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two treys, and Ryan Hollins added nine points, five boards, and a career-high four blocks off the bench.

Mickael Pietrus was sent back to Boston for testing because he had the swelling return in his surgically-repaired knee.
Pietrus had arthroscopic surgery in July on his knee, and he's dealt with swelling previously this season. He returned from his severe concussion and immediately played heavy minutes, so it's not shocking that the swelling returned in his knee. "We'll see what happens when we get back," said Doc Rivers. His status for Wednesday's game against the Magic is unknown.

"I'm not close to where I was," said Pietrus. "I haven't played for three weeks, so I have to put more minutes and more games under my legs so in the playoffs I won't have any problems." Pietrus is serving as the Celtics sixth man with Ray Allen (ankle) sidelined, but he's not worth using in standard-sized leagues right now.

Mickael Pietrus was at Celtics practice on Wednesday and was even getting up some shots, but there is still no timetable on his return.
Pietrus still needs to pass some additional tests to be cleared for play, but it sounds like he is getting closer. The Celtics have been playing inspired basketball lately, so it will be interesting to see if Pietrus can come back before the end of the season and where he would fit into their rotation. Even if he does return soon, he shouldn't be on your fantasy teams.

Mickael Pietrus (concussion) went through a workout at the Celtics practice facility and emerged without complications.
Good news for Pietrus as he looks to return from a Grade III concussion. He passed his first baseline test a few days ago, and he'll have another medical exam on Tuesday. It's conceivable Pietrus could be back before the regular season ends, but he obviously won't return until he's 100 percent cleared to do so.

Great news. Pietrus sustained a Grade III concussion, and that is the most severe concussion classification. Beat writer A. Sherrod Blakely writes that Pietrus "looks a lot better," but the swingman remains out indefinitely. Doc Rivers previously stated he wasn't expecting Pietrus to return until the postseason begins.
