Mon May 2 201123:15Gaby Sanchez his first career grand slam
Gaby Sanchez took Kyle Lohse deep for his first career grand slam on Monday evening, leading the Marlins to a 6-5 victory over the Cardinals.
The home run was his fourth of the season. Sanchez doesn't look ready to shed the label of being primarily a contact hitter this year, but he's very much on pace to replicate his excellent rookie campaign, where he hit .273 to go along with 19 home runs and 85 RBI.

Sun Apr 17 201116:23Gaby has two-hit day in loss
Gaby Sanchez was the only Marlin to post a two-hit day in Florida's 3-2 loss to the Phillies on Sunday.
He is now hitting .340 through his first 53 at-bats. Sanchez still doesn't figure to hit for much power this season (he has just one home run through 14 games), but is a great stopgap option in shallower mixed-leagues if your usual slugging first baseman goes down with injury.

Gaby Sanchez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the Braves.
It was Sanchez's first dinger of the season, though he's batting a robust .326 to lead all Marlins regulars. He figures to put forth another solid, albeit underwhelming season in 2011.

Gaby Sanchez went 3-for-5 with his second RBI in Florida's loss to the Mets on Sunday.
Last year's Rookie of the Year candidate is now hitting .462 through his first three games. Sanchez might struggle to hit 20 home runs this season, but is an excellent fill-in candidate at first base in shallower mixed leagues.

Mon Mar 28 201115:59Marlins' Sanchez collects 10th double
Gaby Sanchez went 3-for-4 and collected his 10th double of the spring Monday against the Cardinals.
The Marlins' plan was to bat Sanchez sixth behind Logan Morrison, but those two have been flip-flopped now, in part because Sanchez did such nice work in the cleanup spot while Mike Stanton was out. Sanchez is hitting .389 for the spring, and though he doesn't have a homer, he's slugging .574 in 54 at-bats.

Fri Sep 3 201013:22MLB suspends 1B Sanchez

Tue Aug 24 201022:54Sanchez homers in loss to Mets
Gaby Sanchez was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and four RBI in a loss to the Mets on Tuesday night.
Sanchez continues to state his case for the National League Rookie of the Year. He had a sacrifice fly in the third and a three-run blast off R.A. Dickey in the top of the seventh inning which actually pushed the Marlins ahead at the time. The 27-year-old first baseman has managed three multi-hit games in his last four and has three home runs and 11 RBI over his last five. He has compiled 17 RBI this month, higher than in any month so far this season. He's owned in less than 50 percent of most mixed leagues, so go ahead and pick him up if he's still available. There's a pretty good chance he is.
Tue Aug 17 201021:59Sanchez collects pair of RBI in win over Bucs
Gaby Sanchez was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
He's now hitting .287/.352/.453, which makes him a pleasant surprise for the Marlins and puts him on the fence for playing time in mixed leagues. Sanchez has 12 homers and 55 RBI in 427 at-bats.
