Wed Sep 7 201114:58Huff not in Wednesday's lineup
Aubrey Huff is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
It's not clear if Huff's back is still bothering him or Bruce Bochy simply decided to give another start to Brett Pill, who went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in his major league debut Tuesday night. Justin Christian is also in the lineup for the second straight day as the Giants go for the sweep.

Fri Aug 26 201119:29Huff out of the lineup on Friday
Aubrey Huff is not in the Giants' Friday evening lineup against the Astros.
Huff is not believed to be injured, so it appears he's simply being benched as the Giants face left-hander J.A. Happ. Mark DeRosa is starting in his place at first base. Batting a respectable .266/.330/.468 in August, Huff is just 1-for-11 on the Giants' current homestand.

Wed Aug 10 201101:26Huff goes 3-for-4 with homer in win
Aubrey Huff went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI and a run scored in San Francisco's 6-0 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
After a terrible start to the season, Huff has picked it up the last three weeks. He's hit safely in nine of his last 10 games and Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he expects to put Huff in the middle of the lineup for most of the rest of the season. Huff is still batting just .249 with a .684 OPS.

Sun Aug 7 201120:42Bochy to leave Huff in the middle of lineup
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he expects to put Aubrey Huff in the middle of the lineup for most of the rest of the season.
Huff is batting just .244 this year, but he's hit .319 with two doubles, a homer, three RBI and four walks in his last 15 games. Bochy wants more continuity for a struggling offense, so don't expect to see a ton of tweaks over the next few months. "We talked about it yesterday as a group. We're going to try to stay consistent here. I said this yesterday, I think really a few times, we know we're a better offense than what we've done the last eight or nine games," Bochy said. "I know it's been a struggle for the most part, but I'm not going to let the last eight or nine days dictate the whole year. Our thinking is being positive and believing that these guys are going to come out of it."

Aubrey Huff will be out of the lineup Saturday and Sunday, according to manager Bruce Bochy.
Brandon Belt will start both days. We're not quite sure what's going on, but beat writer Andrew Baggarly tweeted that his "Spider sense tells me Giants are up to something." When that something does come to light, we'll be sure to bring you an update.

Sat Jul 23 201101:31Aubrey Huff goes 1-for-4 in return
Aubrey Huff managed a single in four at-bats Friday in his return to San Francisco's lineup.
Huff was put right back into the cleanup spot even though he just missed three days with back tightness and he wasn't hitting before he went down. The Giants might want to try someone else there for a little while, perhaps Cody Ross.

Fri Jul 22 201119:32Aubrey Huff back in lineup
Aubrey Huff (back) is back in the lineup Friday.
Huff has been dealing with some tightness in his lower back, and he said the three days off has made a "tremendous difference." Though he appears to be healthy again, Huff might need to pick up his production in order to hold off Brandon Belt.

Tue Jul 19 201119:48Aubrey Huff dealing with back tightness
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said that Brandon Belt was called up because Aubrey Huff is dealing with tightness in his lower back.
Bochy said he wants to give Huff a few days off in hopes that he can put the back injury behind him. It sounds like it could be a short stay for Belt, though if he hits, he could certainly stay around. Hitting is something Huff hasn't done much of this season, as he's batting just .232/.286/.359 for the year.

Fri Jul 15 201102:18Aubrey Huff leads way in Giants' win
Aubrey Huff hit a game-tying homer in the ninth and singled during a five-run rally in the 12th as the Giants beat the Padres 6-2 on Thursday.
And we were sure this one was going 17 when Huff took Heath Bell deep to tie the game in the ninth. As it turned out, the Giants scored five times in the 12th, with the first run coming on Mike Fontenot's bases-loaded walk. Huff plated the final run of the inning with an infield single. All five runs came off Luke Gregerson, and all five were unearned, the result of Gregerson's own error.

Thu Jun 16 201100:45Aubrey Huff has another nice night
Aubrey Huff went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in San Francisco's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Huff is now batting .315 this month after entering June with a .218 average. He has driven in just five runs since his three-homer outburst against the Cardinals on June 2, but the RBI should come soon enough as long as he can keep making contact.

Aubrey Huff brought a big stick to Busch Stadium Thursday, slugging three homers while driving in six runs in the win over the Cardinals.
He also singled, giving him his first four-hit game since last September. Huff came into the night's proceedings sporting just a .219/.279/.348 batting line on the season, but he now has four longballs over the last two days and eight on the year to go along with 30 RBI.

Aubrey Huff singled in the winning run as the Giants beat the A's 2-1 in 10 innings on Friday.

Thu May 12 201108:25Aubrey Huff returns to No. 3 spot
Aubrey Huff returned to the No. 3 spot in the Giants' lineup Wednesday.
Huff had been moved down to the No. 5 hole while he was slumping, with the light-hitting Mike Fontenot hitting third. But, Huff is starting to swing the bat a little better, putting together a modest four-game hitting streak that includes a homer Wednesday. "We're getting back to normal," manager Bruce Bochy said. "Fontenot tried to carry us for a little bit, but this is really getting back to more of his normal slot in the batting order. Same with Aubrey."

Wed May 4 201122:20Huff has three-hit night in 2-0 win
Aubrey Huff continued to emerge from his awful early-season funk on Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with a double in the Giants win over the Mets.
The three-hit game was his first since April 6, and raises his average from .190 to .211. Still not the most inspiring stuff, but after he homered on Tuesday, it's looking like he's finally getting on track.

Sun Apr 17 201120:47Huff hits first homer of the season
Aubrey Huff hit his first home run of the season in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks.
Huff started off last year a little chilly as well, hitting just .247 with two homers in April of 2009. He ended up hitting .290 with 26 jacks. While expecting a repeat of those numbers is unrealistic, Huff is sure to get better as the weather gets warmer.
