CF Coco Crisp hit the third grand slam of his career and his first since 2007 on Sunday. Crisp hit LHP Hector Santiago's first pitch, a 74 mph curveball, over the left-center-field fence for his seventh home run of the year. That drive led a five-run rally but the A's lost 7-6 to the Los Angeles Angels. The grand slam extended Crisp's hitting streak to four games. Seven of Crisp's past nine hits have gone for extra bases.

LF Coco Crisp moved into ninth place in career games played among the club's outfielders since it moved to Oakland. In his 628th game for the A's, Crisp collected three hits, including two doubles, drove in two runs and scored four more in a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels . It was the A's first leadoff home run of the season and Crisp's fifth blast overall. Crisp made his 15th consecutive start on Monday against Minnesota, matching his longest streak of starts since Aug. 13-29, 2014. Crisp, who started in center field Monday, appeared in only 44 games last season because of assorted injuries. "It feels fine," Crisp said of his health. "As long as I can go out there and give whatever I got, whatever it is, 100 percent, then I'm going to try to do that. If they keep throwing me out there then I want to be out there. It?s working out." Crisp avoided what might have been a serious injury in the fifth inning when he collided with RF Chris Coghlan as Coghlan caught 2B Brian Dozier's sacrifice fly near the right-center wall. "We banged knees, but it's all right," Crisp said. Crisp and Coghlan appeared to be shaken up but stayed in the game.

CF Coco Crisp went 1-for-4 with a double and extended his hitting streak to a season-high 10 games Friday night in a 4-1 loss to Detroit. He's batting .283 with 17 RBIs over his past 27 games after hitting .158 with one RBI in his first 12 games.

LF Coco Crisp hit his fourth home run of the season, and his second in Seattle this year, a solo shot in the third inning Tuesday. Crisp has hit safely in eight consecutive games and has hiked his season batting average up from .158 to .248 over the past 25 games.

He has a sore heel and also had a doctor's appointment Wednesday morning for a "non-baseball medical issue," A's manager Bob Melvin said, "I was going to give him yesterday and today off." Crisp is batting .180 with two home runs and six RBIs.

CF Coco Crisp got another start in the leadoff spot Sunday, and it paid off. He followed his two-hit, two-steal performance by hitting the game-winning homer in the top of the 10th inning of a 2-1 win. It was Crisp's first homer since Aug. 27, 2014.

OF Coco Crisp made his first start of the season Tuesday against the White Sox, replacing Billy Burns in center field, and went 1-for-5 with a double in a 5-4 loss. Crisp pinch ran then walked in his only at-bat Monday against Chicago. "Coco had an injury free spring," A's manager Bob Melvin said before Tuesday's game. " He feels good. Everything he's doing right now looks good, and I just don't want him sitting around too long. I want everyone involved." Melvin said he expects Crisp to get playing time in center and left field and at designated hitter.

OF Coco Crisp is due to make a team-high $11 million this season, but he'll apparently do it as a backup unless he resurrects his career and somehow beats out CF Billy Burns. Crisp lost his starting job in left field when the A's acquired LF Khris Davis from Milwaukee in a trade on Feb. 12. Crisp, most likely, will back up Davis in left and Burns in center, pinch hit and get some playing time at DH or as a late-game defensive replacement. Considering Crisp's injury woes, a utility role is probably better for him and the team. Crisp played only 44 games last season when he had two stints on the disabled list. He underwent right elbow surgery and began the season on the DL. He also battled a chronic neck injury, as well as a sore wrist. He hit a career-low .175 with six RBIs and went homerless for the first time in his career.

Crisp is out of the lineup for an eighth straight game Sunday against the Astros.

Crisp finally seems to be healthy, but his tremendous struggles at the plate this season (.167/.244/.213 line over 108 at-bats) have cost him his starting job in the outfield. The 35-year-old remains under contract through the end of 2016 before the A's can buy him out in 2017, so it wouldn't be surprised if they gave him another crack at the starting job in left field if incumbent Jake Smolinski fails to cut it.

Crisp will sit out Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Crisp continues to receive days off as he works through struggles at the plate, going 0-for-16 in his last four starts. He will yield the left field duties to Mark Canha on Sunday, while Stephen Vogt will come out from behind the plate to play first and Josh Phegley enters the lineup.

Crisp is not in the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks, Zach Buchanan of the Arizona Republic reports.

With Crisp slashing just .152/.236/.202, he'll be held out of the lineup for the third time in five games. Jake Smolinski will get the start in left field and bat seventh in his stead.
