Charles (shoulder) had 20 carries for 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as well as two catches on two targets for 19 receiving yards during Sunday's win over the Seahawks.
Another solid game for Charles, though he did lose his second fumble of the season. He has now scored in five straight games, finding the end zone seven times over that span. While the quick turnaround to Thursday's game isn't ideal, Charles gets to face off against a Raiders defense allowing the sixth-most rushing yards per game this season.
Sun Nov 16 201411:49Charles (shoulder) active for Sunday's game against Seahawks
Charles (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Charles might have a sore shoulder, but it will probably not slow him down today as the Chiefs trade blows with the Hawks.

Charles had 15 carries for 98 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as three catches on four targets for 20 receiving yards Sunday against the Bills.
Charles was having a fairly pedestrian day against the Bills' eighth-ranked run defense, but he turned it around on a 39-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter on a 4th-and-1 sweep. While he still hasn't rushed for 100 yards yet this season, Charles has five touchdowns in his last four games, and he continues to be used in the passing game, getting targeted four times in each game over that span. However, it figures to be much tougher in Week 11 against a Seahawks defense allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game this season while allowing only three rushing touchdowns.

Charles (back) had 20 carries for 78 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as two catches on four targets for 10 receiving yards Sunday against the Jets.
It was a tough matchup for Charles, as the Jets came into the game ranked fifth in the NFL against the run this season, but Charles banged home a one-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter to alleviate any fears fantasy owners may have had about playing him. Up next is another tough matchup, as the Chiefs travel to Buffalo to face off against a Bills defense allowing 92.2 rushing yards per game, which ranks eighth in the league.
Sun Nov 2 201411:38Charles (back) active for Sunday's game against Jets
Charles (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Charles' back issue was never considered serious, as he was able to practice fully each day this week. He'll face off against a Jets defense that is fifth in the NFL by allowing only 85.4 rushing yards per game, though Charles is still able to make an impact in the passing game.
Fri Oct 31 201418:46Charles (back) listed as probable for Sunday's game against Jets
Charles (back) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Jets, the Chiefs' official site reports.
Charles practiced fully all week, so there is little doubt that he will be available Sunday to head the Chiefs' Week 9 rushing attack.

Charles had 13 carries for 73 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-7 win over the Rams. He added an additional 44 yards on four receptions.
After struggling to find any traction in the first half, Charles got going after halftime and delivered another strong performance. Don't be alarmed by the fact that Knile Davis received 16 carries to Charles' 13; most of Davis' came in the fourth quarter when the game was well in hand. Kansas City's next three games come against some strong run defenses (NYJ, at BUF, SEA), but don't let it discourage you from rolling with him.

Charles (head) is not listed on the Chiefs' Wednesday practice participation/injury report, the team's official site reports.
Though Charles absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter of this past Sunday's game against the Chargers, he finished the contest, and the fact that he is not listed on the Chiefs' injury report Wednesday indicates that his Week 8 playing status is secure.

The Chiefs indicated Wednesday that Charles -- who absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit this past Sunday -- has passed a battery of tests and does not display signs of a concussion, the Associated Press reports.
Following comments made by Charles on Tuesday on ESPN Radio, which suggested that the running back had his bell rung Sunday, the team checked Charles out, but team trainer Rick Burkholder indicated that Charles passed all of his concussion tests in advance of Wednesday's practice. "We're not classifying him as having a concussion," Burkholder noted Wednesday. "But as with all of our players, I'll monitor him as he goes and he'll go through practice today."

Though Charles absorbed a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter of this past Sunday's game against the Chargers, he finished the contest, ESPN.com reports.
Though Charles has downplayed the situation, indicating that he didn't suffer a concussion on the play, his Wednesday practice participation will be worth monitoring, given how he subsequently described the way he felt shortly after taking the hit. "It definitely hurt," Charles said Wednesday. "A couple plays later, I just (saw) this light buzz around my eyes and I was trying to catch em. But I was like, let's get the ball and run again.'"

Charles had 22 rushes for 95 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes on four targets for 12 yards in Sunday's win at Kansas City.
Charles had an extra week of rest, with the team on bye, and he looked fresh, showing off his incredible moves in the open field on his 16-yard touchdown run. Meanwhile, Knile Davis had 10 carries for 25 yards, spelling Charles when he was winded. Thus, it appears Charles will shoulder nearly the entire load now that he's over his previous ankle injury. Charles' owners would be wise to grab Davis as an insurance policy, however, assuming he's available.

Charles (ankle) had 15 carries for 80 yards and had one catch on four targets for four yards in Sunday's loss at San Francisco.
Charles was limited at practice this week, with his ankle injury, but looked explosive on a number of carries Sunday. Meanwhile, Knile Davis ran for just six yards on two carries. Kansas City has a bye next week, so it's great timing for Charles to rest his ankle, and he should ready for a tough San Diego defense in Week 7.
Sun Oct 5 201414:57Charles (ankle) active for Sunday's game against 49ers
Charles (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
No surprises here. Charles will have his work cut out for him against the NFL's second-best run defense, but he proved last week that his ankle problem is no longer holding him back.
Fri Oct 3 201416:50Charles (ankle) probable for Sunday's game against 49ers
Charles (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, ESPN's Adam Teicher reports.
The 49ers have allowed just 69.8 yards per game on the ground through four games, but Charles looked sharp in his return to action this past Monday and should remain a reliable lineup option moving forward, provided he can stay healthy.
Thu Oct 2 201418:09Charles (ankle) limited at practice once again Thursday
Charles (ankle) was limited at practice once again Thursday, the Chiefs' official site reports.
We'll revisit Charles' status Friday, but so far there is nothing to suggest that his availability for Sunday's game against the 49ers is in any peril.
Wed Oct 1 201418:51Charles (ankle) limited at practice Wednesday
Charles (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday, the Chiefs' official site reports.
With no reported setbacks with his ankle injury Monday night against the Patriots, we suspect that Charles' limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related. We'll let you know if that assessment changes.

Charles (ankle) had 18 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions for 16 yards and two touchdowns, in Monday's 41-14 win over the Patriots.
Despite missing last week's game, Charles looked like his usual speedy, elusive self. He scored the game's first three touchdowns, including one on a bubble screen, and another on a short route out of the backfield. Charles did grab for his right knee after the third touchdown, but he was able to walk off the field without much trouble, and returned to the game shortly thereafter. Fantasy owners need not worry about Kniles Davis' 16 carries for 107 yards, as the second-year back was merely used to spell Charles, until the Chiefs went up big in the second half. Charles will have a touch matchup next week, with the Chiefs traveling to San Francisco.
Mon Sep 29 201419:08Jamaal Charles: (Ankle) Active Monday
Charles (ankle) is active for Monday's game against the Patriots, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Entering Week 4's showdown with the Patriots, Charles logged time at each practice, culminating in Saturday's iteration in which he did "everything" asked of him. As a result, he appears poised to take on a full workload, which has included 15.5 carries and 3.1 receptions (on 4.4 targets) per game in his four full healthy campaigns.
Sat Sep 27 201416:24Jamaal Charles: (Ankle) On Track To Play Monday
Charles (ankle) is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Patriots, BJ Kissel of Chiefs Live reports.
Charles was able to practice each day Thursday through Saturday, so he will return to action after sitting out last week's game against the Dolphins. Head coach Andy Reid indicated that Charles was able to do everything he was asked during Saturday's practice session, so it seems likely he will be in line for his regular workload Monday night.
Sat Sep 27 201414:15Jamaal Charles: (Ankle) Does
Head coach Andy Reid said Charles (ankle) did "everything" during Saturday's practice, Pete Sweeney of the Chiefs' official website reports.
Charles' status for Monday's game will not be officially announced until later Saturday, but judging by Reid's comments, it appears he was able to get in the necessary work to play Monday night. Expect another update on Charles when the Chiefs release their final injury report of the week.
