Tue Apr 4 202318:31Gunnar Henderson Gets Day Off
Baltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Texas Rangers. This is the first time this season that Henderson has been out of the starting lineup. This appears to be a routine rest day for the 21-year-old slugger. Ramon Urias will cover third base and bat sixth versus lefty Andrew Heaney on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should expect Henderson to be back in the lineup for their next game.

Tue Apr 4 202300:07Gunnar Henderson Gets First Hit and Home Run Of Season
Baltimore Orioles third baseman/shortstop Gunnar Henderson finally got his bat going in Monday's 2-0 win over the Rangers. The 21-year-old went 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, and two strikeouts. The rookie made quite an impression last season and consequently was all over fantasy managers' radars for 2023. However, he has gotten off to a slow start at the plate, batting .167 in 18 plate appearances. This is obviously a small sample size, so fantasy managers have nothing to worry about at this time. Hopefully, this game can help get Henderson going.

Sun Apr 2 202312:13Gunnar Henderson Starting At Shortstop Sunday
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Gunnar Henderson is getting the start at shortstop on Sunday and is hitting fifth in the batting order against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Tanner Houck. Jorge Mateo (hand) is sitting out this one due to a cut that he's dealing with on his hand. The 21-year-old Henderson has played third base and served as the designated hitter in the team's first two games this year, and now he'll patrol the 6 on Sunday for the series finale. In the first two ballgames, he is 0-for-5 with a run scored, five walks and three stolen bases for the O's. Hopefully for his fantasy managers, Henderson will be able to pick up his first hit of the 2023 season on Sunday.

Tue Mar 7 202316:24Gunnar Henderson Off To Slow Start
Baltimore Orioles shortstop/third base prospect Gunnar Henderson went 0-for-3 with a walk and strikeout on Tuesday versus the Minnesota Twins. Arguably the top prospect in the game right now, Henderson has come out of the gates sluggish this spring with just two hits in his first 13 at-bats. The 21-year-old has flown through the Orioles system and spent the last month of the season in the big leagues where he held his own with a .259 batting average to go along with four homers and 18 RBI in 116 at-bats. Henderson has shown the ability to make adjustments throughout his career and managers shouldn't worry about his slow start this spring yet. Likely to open the season at shortstop or third base, Henderson should be on draft boards in all formats with his ability to hit for power and add speed.

Fri Feb 3 202313:11Gunnar Henderson To Work At Short And Third Base
Baltimore Orioles infield prospect Gunnar Henderson said he plans to take repetitions at both shortstop and third base during spring training and is ready to play wherever the team puts him. Henderson said knowing he'll be on the team "takes a little pressure off," but he's heading to camp with the mindset that he's trying to earn a starting spot. The 21-year-old is listed as MLB Pipeline's top overall prospect in baseball for 2023, so he'll have high expectations after hitting .259/.348/.440 with a .788 OPS, four home runs and 18 RBI in 34 games during his major-league debut in 2022. Henderson played more short than third in the minors, but he was used mostly at the hot corner in Baltimore when he came up last year. No matter where he's playing, Henderson is one of the most exciting young players in the game right now.

Wed Sep 28 202216:50Gunnar Henderson Not In Wednesday's Lineup
Baltimore Orioles rookie shortstop Gunnar Henderson isn't in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox against a left-handed pitcher. It's a good time for a day off, as the 21-year-old prospect has gone 5-for-32 (.156) with two homers, five RBI and 10 strikeouts in his last nine games to drop his season line to .269/.346/.484 with an .830 OPS, four home runs, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base in his first 93 major-league at-bats. Tyler Nevin, who was just recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, will enter the starting lineup at third base and will bat sixth against Red Sox left-hander Rich Hill, while Jorge Mateo is at the 6 and is hitting seventh on Wednesday.

Baltimore Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson provided one of his team's five home runs in Monday's 14-8 win over the Red Sox. Henderson is regarded as one of baseball's top prospects and has played like it in a small sample size, slashing .281/.354/.506 with four long balls, 17 RBI, and a stolen base in 99 plate appearances. Tue Sep 20 202216:11Gunnar Henderson Batting Leadoff Against Tigers
Baltimore Orioles rookie infielder Gunnar Henderson is starting at third base and batting leadoff for the first time in his career on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers and left-hander Joey Wentz. Even against a left-handed pitcher, the O's trust the 21-year-old left-handed hitter to bat leadoff. He's impressed so far in his first 64 major-league at-bats, going 20-for-64 (.313) with two home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base over 18 games. The 21-year-old wasn't ranked by MLB Pipeline as the league's No. 2 prospect this year for no reason. So far in 23 at-bats against lefties, he has eight hits (one homer) and eight RBI. The upside is certainly there with Henderson in both DFS and season-long leagues.

Wed Aug 31 202200:18Gunnar Henderson Joining Taxi Squad Wednesday
Baltimore Orioles shortstop prospect Gunnar Henderson will be flying to Cleveland on Wednesday to join the team's taxi squad, per MASNsports.com's Roch Kubatko. Pitcher DL Hall will also be joining him. Henderson is the team's first-ranked prospect and is the number two prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline's prospect rankings. He has shown an exciting combination of power and speed at Triple-A Norfolk this season, slashing .282/.386/.502 with 11 home runs, 41 RBI, and eight stolen bases. It remains to be seen what role Henderson may play with the O's if he does play, so fantasy managers may want to hold off before making a move on him. That being said, those who are truly interested may want to take a proactive flyer on him.

Thu Jun 9 202209:19Gunnar Henderson Makes Mark In Triple-A Debut
Baltimore Orioles shortstop/third base prospect Gunnar Henderson started his debut off with a bang for Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday. Promoted earlier in the week, Henderson went yard in his first at-bat for Norfolk and would finish the contest 2-for-4. At the young age of 20, Henderson is the youngest competitor in Triple-A at the moment. Henderson was swinging a hot bat in Double-A with a .312 batting average to go along with eight home runs and 35 RBI before the promotion. The young left-hander brings plenty of hard contact and pop to his bat and has played stellar defense throughout his professional career. The Orioles have starting promoting their young prospects to the big leagues in 2022 and Henderson could be next, but it is more likely that he will make an impact in 2023 versus this season. Dynasty managers should already be rostering the talented infielder.

Mon Sep 13 202118:10Gunnar Henderson Promoted To Double-A
The Baltimore Orioles promoted shortstop prospect Gunnar Henderson to Double-A on Monday. The 20-year-old was the first pick of the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft and he is currently ranked as the team's No. 4 overall prospect. Over 100 games at Single-A and High-A this year, he slashed .260/.352/.484 with 17 home runs, 16 stolen bases, 74 RBI and 64 runs. He has a great deal of upside and could become an all-around contributor for fantasy purposes, but we may not see him in the majors until 2023. For now, he's a great player to stash in dynasty leagues.
