Mon Dec 19 202214:54Gary Trent Jr. Upgraded To Questionable For Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (quad) has been upgraded to questionable for Monday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 23-year-old has been dealing with left quad soreness, but it appears he's feeling better. Juancho Hernangomez would start in his place, assuming he's not able to play. Also, Malachi Flynn would likely be more involved in the rotation. Both of them are possible deep league streaming options if Trent is unable to play on Monday.

Tue Nov 22 202215:57Gary Trent Jr. Off Of The Injury Report For Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. is no longer appearing on the injury report for the team's game on Wednesday night. The 23-year-old has missed the last three games due to a hip injury. Now, it looks like he's ready to get back on the court. Trent should return back to the starting lineup and get plenty of opportunities especially if Scottie Barnes (ankle) doesn't play after his questionable status. This season, so far, Trent is averaging 16.6 points per game, but only shooting 32.6% from deep which is his lowest mark since his rookie year.

Sat Nov 19 202200:28Gary Trent Jr. Remains Sidelined Against Atlanta
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (hip) won't suit up on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks, marking his third-straight absence. Dalano Banton (ankle) would have likely replaced him in the lineup. However, with Banton also out with a sprained ankle, Malachi Flynn may get the start. While Flynn should be more productive on the fantasy end, his outlook isn't as favorable with Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and Scottie Barnes on the court.

Wed Nov 16 202218:07Gary Trent Jr. Out Versus Miami
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (hip) isn't available on Wednesday against Miami, marking his second consecutive absence. Fortunately, Fred VanVleet (illness) will return, so he's the favorite to lead the way offensively. At the same time, Dalano Banton, who had 27 points on Saturday against Detroit, is expected to enter the starting lineup.

Tue Nov 15 202215:55Gary Trent Jr. Listed As Questionable For Wednesday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (hip) has been given the questionable tag for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. He was forced to miss the last game due to the same hip issue but seems to be trending in the right direction. If he can't go on Wednesday, Juancho Hernangomez could get some extra playing time as he started in the same spot in the second half of their last game when Otto Porter Jr. went out with an injury of his own. Hernangomez wouldn't likely be a great streaming option, however.

Mon Nov 14 202214:37Gary Trent Jr. Ruled Out On Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Detroit Pistons. This is bad timing with the Raptors already shorthanded for this contest. That being said, Scottie Barnes are going to see his usage skyrocket on Monday. Also, Dalano Banton and Malachi Flynn should see a significant boost in playing time and usage for this game. Fantasy managers should consider both players possible streaming options for Monday's slate.

Sat Jul 23 202209:36Gary Trent Jr. Could Come Off The Bench Next Year
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. had a career-best season in 2021-22. He played nearly 35 minutes per game and averaged 18.3 points, 3.0 three-pointers and 1.7 steals per contest. He shot 41.4% from the field, 38.3% from three-point range and 85.3% from the line while committing just 1.0 turnovers per game. According to Raptors beat writer Eric Koreen, Trent could come off the bench in 2022-23. Koreen projects for the team to go with a starting lineup of Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam and Precious Achiuwa. If Trent indeed winds up coming off the bench, he'd likely see his minutes drop to something closer to 30 minutes per game. His fantasy value would take a bit of a hit but he should remain a solid source of three-pointers and steals regardless.

Thu Apr 28 202223:32Gary Trent Jr. Scores 19 Points In Game 6
Toronto Raptors shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. finished with 19 points, two assists and one turnover in Thursday's 132-97 Game 6 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers. Trent Jr. shot 7-for-15 from the field, 2-for-6 from three-point range and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line in the contest. The entire Raptors team went cold from three-point range, shooting 7-for-35 overall from beyond the arc, for a mark of 20 percent. Trent Jr. had a terrific season in his first full year with the Raptors, as he provided early-round fantasy value across standard formats as a result of his scoring, great three-point shooting and improvement defensively as one of the NBA's leaders in steals per game. Trent Jr. will be a quality selection across all fantasy drafts in the fall.

Wed Apr 20 202211:42Gary Trent Jr. Will Suit Up For Game 3, Expected To Start
Toronto Raptors shooting guard/small forward Gary Trent Jr. (illness) will join the mix for Wednesday's game against Philadelphia, although how much he is able to play remains up in the air as he continues to battle an illness. Trent has started each of the first two contests, but he has combined to shoot 2-for-14 overall, with his only makes coming from behind the three-point line. Any kind of minutes cap for Trent paves the way for OG Anunoby to see an elevated role, while Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam would take on even larger offensive duties. Trent knocked down at least four triples in three of four regular-season meetings with the 76ers, as the spacing he provides on offense has been vitally missed thus far. He will be something of a wild card DFS selection due to his murky minutes cap, yet high ceiling of production.

Tue Apr 19 202218:57Gary Trent Jr. Questionable For Game 3
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (illness) has been deemed questionable ahead of Game 3 of the playoff series versus Philly. Trent doesn't have COVID-19, although his condition relegated him to just 10 minutes of action in Game 2. If he can play, managers should acknowledge that he likely won't be fully healthy. Scottie Barnes (ankle) is also doubtful, so Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam will likely lead the way offensively. OG Anunoby, who had a team-high 26 points on Monday night, should also be in the running to see a rise in production.

Mon Apr 18 202221:51Gary Trent Jr. Exits Early During Game 2
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (illness) wasn't able to get through Monday's Game 2 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Trent was cleared to play for this game, but only lasted 10 minutes. He missed all of his shots and obviously isn't over this illness yet. Chris Boucher replaced Trent early on and Malachi Flynn has played over 20 minutes off the bench. It's uncertain if Trent will be able to suit up for Game 3. Fantasy managers will have to check back for another update later.

Mon Apr 18 202219:16Gary Trent Jr. To Play In Game 2
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (illness) will be available for Monday's Game 2 contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. He was listed as doubtful coming into the contest due to a non-COVID related illness. It sounds like both Trent and Thaddeus Young (thumb) will give it a go on Monday. Trent could see an increased role in the offense with Scottie Barnes (ankle) sidelined. However, Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam will likely benefit the most out of anyone.

Sun Apr 17 202221:21Gary Trent Jr. Doubtful For Game 2 On Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (illness) is unlikely to play during the playoff matchup against the 76ers. Trent had a rough go during Game 1, finishing with nine points on 2-for-11 shooting. He was projected to take on a more prominent role in Game 2 on Monday night after Scottie Barnes (ankle) suffered a sprained left ankle in the series opener. However, with Barnes and Trent unlikely to suit up, Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet will likely handle most of the work on the offensive end. There's also room for OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa to get even more involved as well. Fortunately for the team, Trent is dealing with a non-COVID-related illness, so there's a chance he'll make it back for Game 3 on Wednesday evening.

Sun Apr 17 202214:28Gary Trent Jr. Misses Sunday's Practice
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (illness) was unable to participate in Sunday's practice. The team is calling it a non-COVID related illness, but Trent is considered doubtful for Monday's Game 2 matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Raptors could use Trent out there with Scottie Barnes (ankle) unlikely to suit up. Otherwise, Malachi Flynn and Armoni Brooks could be looking at more playing time. Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam would be forced to do most of the heavy lifting on offense.

Mon Mar 28 202218:21Gary Trent Jr. Will Play On Monday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (toe) will be part of the team's lineup for Monday night's game against the Boston Celtics. He was previously listed as questionable for the game due to a hyperextension of the big toe on his left foot. The injury caused him to sit out each of the team's last three games. Khem Birch should slide back into a bench role upon Trent's return. It's been a career-best year so far for Trent, who is averaging 18.0 points, 1.8 steals and 3.0 three-pointers per game on the year.

Sun Mar 27 202222:28Gary Trent Jr. Questionable Versus Boston
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (toe) is questionable leading up to Monday's bout versus Boston. The 23-year-old has missed the last three games because of a hyperextended left big toe, but his current designation suggests he's at least trending in the right direction. However, if Trent is ruled out for another one, Khem Birch will likely enter the starting lineup once again. However, Chris Boucher has been playing better off the bench and should be considered the more attractive fantasy option.

Sat Mar 26 202212:30Gary Trent Jr. Still Listed On The Injury Report
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (toe) is uncertain to play during Saturday's matchup versus the Indiana Pacers. He's missed the last two games because of a left big toe ailment. Fortunately, OG Anunoby (finger) returned from an extended layoff on Thursday against Cleveland and finished with 14 points across 26 minutes of work. Nonetheless, if Trent is out again, Nick Nurse will likely shuffle some players around, resulting in Khem Birch or Chris Boucher potentially getting a start. However, Boucher should be the preferred fantasy option, regardless of his role.

Thu Mar 24 202219:14Gary Trent Jr. Unavailable For Thursday
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. This marks the second game in a row that Trent will miss due to a toe issue. Luckily, OG Anunoby (finger) is able to make his return to the court and will start on Thursday. However, fantasy managers should expect Anunoby to be limited during his first game back. Possibly, Precious Achiuwa and Chris Boucher still hold streaming value for at least one more game.

Thu Mar 24 202209:02Gary Trent Jr. Questionable For Thursday's Game
Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. (toe) is listed as questionable ahead of Thursday night's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Trent hyperextended the big toe on his left foot. The injury caused him to sit out on Monday and it looks like it could cost him a second game. If he sits, we should see Armoni Brooks receive a bump in playing time. Brooks played 14 minutes on Monday and scored eight points while sinking two three-pointers.

Mon Mar 21 202215:55Gary Trent Jr. Unavailable For Monday’s Contest
Toronto Raptors shooting guard/small forward Gary Trent Jr. (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls. Trent scuffled mightily from the field Sunday, shooting 2-for-13 overall. His absence paves the way for potentially Yuta Watanabe or Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk to step into elevated minutes, as the Raptors remain thin in the backcourt. In the midst of a breakout campaign, Trent has been an especially confounding DFS option over his past six games, in which his scoring totals have been: 42, eight, 28, seven, 23, and nine, respectively. His next chance to take the floor comes Thursday vs. Cleveland.
