Harkless will be inactive for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
Harkless will assume one of the inactive spots with Tobias Harris (ankle) set to return to action Wednesday. Harkless has played in roughly half of Orlando's games this season and is averaging just 14.5 minutes per game after seeing 24.4 per game in 2013-14.
Wed Jan 7 201520:36Harkless inactive for Wednesday's game against Nuggets
Harkless is inactive for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
Harkless has played zero minutes in back-to-back contests, so Wednesday will represent his third straight game without seeing the court. Barring injury to other role players, there's likely little fantasy value to find here moving forward.
Fri Jan 2 201519:09Harkless inactive for Friday's games against Nets
Harkless is inactive for Friday's games against the Nets, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Harkless is not injured. Jacque Vaughn just wanted to get a look at recently called up Devyn Marble. Harkless has been out of the rotation all season, playing garbage time every few weeks.

Harkless played in consecutive games for the first time since just before Thanksgiving, receiving eight DNP-CDs beforehand.
Harkless played 12.5 minutes in those two games and scored 3.0 points per game. Coach Jacque Vaughn spoke to Harkless about his responsibility to the team when not playing, saying "This is what you signed up for, and there's no guarantee there's minutes for you. You earn those minutes. You produce those minutes." He's just a watch list guy with Tobias Harris and Evan Fournier producing plenty of offense and adequate defense. The impending return of Aaron Gordon (foot), who was averaging 15.0 minutes per game, accelerates the need for Harkless to produce if he wants to remain in the rotation when the team is at full strength.

Harkless returned to a bench role after filling in as a starter due to Tobias Harris's one game absence. Harkless had six points (3-3 FG), with five rebounds, two assists and a steal during Wednesday's loss to the Warriors.
Harkless only has 22 combined points over his last seven games and would need a further significant injury to Tobias Harris for him to come into fantasy calculations.

Harkless will get the start in place of Tobias Harris (calf) Monday against the Cavaliers, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
Harkless, who started 41 games last season, will make his first start of 2014-15 and will be tasked with guarding LeBron James. The 21-year-old has been quiet in inconsistent minutes thus far, scoring in double-figures only once and averaging 4.5 points and 2.8 rebound sin 16.6 minutes per game. Harkless scored two points in 19 minutes off the bench Saturday.

Harkless played his third game of the season after receiving three DNP-CDs over the first five contests. He finished with a season-high 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, and two steals in 21 minutes Friday.
Harkless was one of the first players off the bench, a nice departure from the norm. Early on, he's been lost at the end of the bench behind veterans and Tobias Harris. It'll be difficult to own him in standard leagues while his minutes are in flux.

Harkless played in his first game after receiving two straight DNP-CDs. He provided seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block in 22 minutes off the bench Saturday.
Harkless was forced into action after rookie Aaron Gordon picked up three fouls in one minute guarding All-Star DeMar DeRozan. With coach Jacque Vaughn choosing offense over defense early in the season, Harkless found himself sitting behind the likes of Ben Gordon and Willie Green.
Wed Oct 29 201417:28Harkless didn't come off bench during Tuesday's loss to Pelicans
Harkless didn't come off the bench during Tuesday's loss to the Pelicans.
After legitimately contending for the starting shooting guard position, Coach Jacque Vaughn decided to use veterans Ben Gordon and Willie Green off the bench. Rookie Aaron Gordon led all reserves with 28 minutes. With all the injuries in Orlando, there's not much to read into this just yet. Coach Vaughn maybe preserving players on a night-to-night basis until Channing Frye (sprained MCL) and Victor Oladipo (face) return.

Harkless contributed across the board Saturday, scoring 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 FT, 0-2 3Pt) to go with seven boards, two assists, two blocks and three steals.
After sitting out Wednesday and Friday to rest, Harkless was back in the starting lineup Saturday. The 21-year-old started at small forward, as coach Jacque Vaughn continues to tinker with different lineup combinations during the preseason. Harkless, who started 41 of 80 games last season, has worked at shooting guard as well and could help fill the void left by the departure of Arron Afflalo. He's showcased improved ball-handling skills in the preseason and looks to have addressed his free throw woes (59.4 percent last season).
Sat Oct 18 201413:49Harkless (rest) sat out second consecutive preseason game
Harkless (rest) sat out his second consecutive preseason game.
Coach Jacque Vaughn insisted prior to the game that four players would rest. In return, those individuals would receive heavy burn during Saturday's matchup against the Sixers. Expect Harkless back in the lineup.

Harkless (rest) did not play during Wednesday's preseason game against Brazil's Flamengo club.
Harkless started the last game at shooting guard. With Willie Green returning from injury, coach Jacque Vaughn felt inclined to rest the 21-year-old. The Magic next play Friday against the Pistons.
Tue Oct 14 201415:41Harkless started first preseason game at shooting guard
Harkless started his first preseason game at shooting guard. He finished with five points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one steal, one rebound, and one assist in 24 minutes during Monday's contest against the Hornets.
Harkless's move into the starting lineup displaced Evan Fournier. Things to take away from this game are Harkless' improved dribbling and his pullup jumpers, areas he vastly improved this summer. Another positive sign for Harkless is his improved free-throw stroke, converting on 5-of-6 this preseason.

Harkless supplied 12 points (5-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, and one steal off the bench in 24 minutes during the Magic's preseason overtime victory.
Harkless looked comfortable handling the rock in spurts, an issue that has plagued him thus far in his career. Another positive takeaway are the free-throw makes for a career sub-60 percent charity stripe shooter.
Thu Oct 2 201420:46Harkless worked to improve shooting
Harkless worked to improve his shooting, ball handling, agility, and accuracy near the rim this offseason, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Harkless spurned the Puerto Rican national team this summer in order to focus on improving his game. He did struggle at the rim last season and his dribbling wasn't too far behind, so it's comforting to hear Harkless willingly improved those deficiencies. The 6-foot-9 forward enters his year 21 season fresh off a sophomore campaign converting an impressive 38 percent from beyond the arc. Coach Jacque Vaughn delivered a glowing quote on behalf of Harkless, stating "[Harkless] has been very consistent from the start of camp 'til today." Entrenched in a position battle with Tobias Harris, consistency will be the key to Harkless's success.
Tue Jul 29 201413:56Maurice Harkless won't play in FIBA World Cup
Maurice Harkless will not play with Puerto Rico in the FIBA World Cup of Basketball this summer.
Harkless had been set to suit up for Team Puerto Rico, but has decided to concentrate on preparing for the 2014-15 season instead. "He wants to focus on the Magic and getting ready for his most important season to date," Harkless' agent Happy Walters said. Harkless only averaged 7.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 24.4 minutes per game during the 2013-14 season, so his fantasy value is limited to the deepest of fantasy leagues at this point.

Wed Apr 16 201421:28Harkless gets 38 minutes, Dipo/Tobias don't
Moe Harkless got 38 minutes and had 14 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block in Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.
Tobias Harris played just 10 minutes and had six points and one rebound, while Victor Oladipo played just 17 minutes and scored four points. We thought they'd give Oladipo more run in the final game of his rookie season, but the Magic were allocating minutes as if they were resting guys for the playoffs. Which couldn't be further from reality.

Sun Mar 30 201420:37Moe Harkless gets 3-pointer, steal and block
Maurice Harkless scored 14 points in 37 minutes vs. the Raptors on Sunday, marking his first double-digit performance in the past four games.
He knocked down 6-of-9 shots with one 3-pointer, while adding three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Harkless has emerged as a sneaky mid-round value over the past month, averaging 9.2 points, 1.0 threes, 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. Paul Millsap and Wes Johnson are the only guys averaging at least one 3-pointer, steal and block on the season, which is worth remembering on draft day next season.

Tue Mar 25 201421:31Harkless plays only 25 minutes vs. Blazers
Moe Harkless played only 25 minutes vs. the Blazers on Tuesday, his lowest playing time in over a month.
He scored five points and is now averaging just 4.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists over Orlando's past two games, though he has also stolen the ball 2.5 times per contest. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for reliable production in light of Harkless' dwindling playing time, Tobias Harris' solid play off the bench, and Orlando's lack of four-game weeks on the schedule.

Sat Mar 22 201423:53Moe Harkless scores 15 points vs. Jazz
Moe Harkless scored 15 points with four boards, one assist, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.
The loss of Jameer Nelson opens up a lot of minutes for several guys and Harkless is one of them. He played 32 on Wednesday, but the big surprise is Harkless shooting 7-of-13 from the field. He didn't attempt more than six shots in any of his previous four games and this game should probably come with a grain of salt for the way Utah gives up big lines to small forwards. That said, he's on the radar in standard leagues.
