Lakers guard Darius Morris has accepted his one-year, $962k qualifying offer.
Morris was a second-round pick in 2011 and appeared in just 19 games as a rookie, averaging 2.4 points, 1.1 assists and 1.0 turnovers in nine minutes per game. He also shot 44.4 percent from downtown on limited attempts, and L.A. saw enough in him to keep him around another year.

Fri Mar 16 201214:26Lakers recall G Darius Morris from NBADL
Lakers recalled G Darius Morris from the NBADL's Los Angeles D-Fenders on Friday.
With Derek Fisher now in Houston, the Lakers have called up Morris to be the third-string PG. Morris may get run on Friday with Ramon Sessions not yet ready to make his Lakers debut, but he shouldn't be on any fantasy rosters.

Lakers sent G Darius Morris to the D-League.
The rookie has appeared in just four games since the start of February, so it makes sense to get him a chance to play regularly. Morris is averaging 2.7 points in 13 games this season.

Sat Jan 14 201203:12Morris looking at a solid backup role for LAL
Darius Morris is now the Lakers' No. 2 PG with Steve Blake (ribs) out for 3-4 weeks, and he started off on the right foot Friday with three points on 1-of-3 shooting (including a three) with no rebounds, four assists, and just one turnover in 18 minutes.
The stat line is not impressive, period, but Morris has piqued our interest since he was drafted in the second round earlier this summer. Some analysts had pegged him as the best pure passer in the draft, and concerns about physical ability and shooting range appear overstated. Derek Fisher will get as much run as he can handle, but if the rook proves himself don't be surprised if they let the old man rest.

Tue Dec 20 201102:25Morris plays well in rookie debut vs. stars
Second-round pick PG Darius Morris made his NBA debut in Monday's preseason game against the Lakers, scoring 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes off the bench.
Derek Fisher (rest) was out and Steve Blake tweaked his ankle, opening the door for Morris to play with the starting unit and all things considered he played well. He faced a swarming group of Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, and Mo Williams and the rookie held his own. In a 18-20 team league we'd consider a last-round flier pick on Morris, who some thought was the best passing PG in the draft. Fisher and Blake aren't exactly Jerry and Magic, either.
