Mavericks rookie Dominique Jones has been impressive during Summer League, averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

One area of concern is Jones' inconsistent jumper, but he has great size and strength for a rookie guard, and the Mavs are thrilled to have drafted him. "He's a guy that can score the ball," said coach Rick Carlisle. "He does a great job getting into the paint and took an unbelievable number of free throws for a college player ... Dominique has a great knack for finding the crevasses, creating space, getting the contact, and finishing off the play."

The Mavericks signed rookie guard Dominique Jones to a contract on Tuesday.

He won't get much run with the Mavericks this season, as they're deep in the backcourt.
