Tue Feb 11 201415:37Jermaine O'Neal will not play Wednesday
Jermaine O'Neal will sit out the Warriors' final game before the All-Star break on Wednesday.
There hasn't been any information about what's bothering J.O., but presumably it's related to the wrist surgery from which he recently returned. Marreese Speights is coming off a career-best 32-point performance and should get plenty of minutes with O'Neal and Andrew Bogut (shoulder) out of the lineup on Wednesday.

Mon Feb 10 201421:30Jermaine O'Neal will not play on Monday
Jermaine O'Neal will not play against the Sixers on Monday night.
There is still no word as to why O'Neal will sit and we'll update him as the info becomes available. The Warriors will have to lean on Marreese Speights a little more, but at least David Lee is back tonight.

Sun Feb 9 201401:17Jermaine O'Neal starts for injured Bogut
Jermaine O'Neal started in place of Andrew Bogut (shoulder) on Saturday and had 11 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block on 4-of-11 shooting in 31 minutes.
The minutes were a season high, but the production left plenty to be desired if you used him tonight. Bogut isn't expected to miss much time and O'Neal is basically playing with one leg and one arm. You have to be in a pretty deep league to be using (or considering) O'Neal, at this point in his storied career.

Fri Feb 7 201401:40Jermaine O'Neal logs big minutes vs. Bulls
Jermaine O'Neal matched his season-high 26 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday with four points, five boards, two assists, one steal and three blocks.
He played well with plenty of hustle against the Bulls and his team has to be happy to see him back in the lineup after a wrist injury back in December. There were some murmurs of JO retiring from that injury, but he's looked good and should come in handy for the Warriors to give Andrew Bogut (shoulder) some extra rest. O'Neal only has value in deeper leagues.

Wed Feb 5 201401:40Jermaine O'Neal plays well in return for GSW
Jermaine O'Neal returned after missing eight weeks due to wrist surgery and had nine points, eight rebounds and a block in 17 minutes on Tuesday.
This was a fine showing by O'Neal, but unless you're in a 30-team league, we'd recommend leaving him on waivers.

Tue Feb 4 201416:18Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) will play Tuesday
Jermaine O'Neal will play on Tuesday, eight weeks after having arthroscopic wrist surgery.
J.O. was initially given a four-month timetable for his recovery, but he's healed faster than expected and is ready to play limited minutes off the Warriors' bench. He's only worth fantasy owner's attention if you need a handful of rebounds and blocks in deep leagues.

Tue Feb 4 201414:50Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) could return Tuesday
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) has been upgraded to 'questionable' for Tuesday's game.
J.O. had arthroscopic surgery in mid-December and he's recovered quicker than expected, providing a nice boost for Golden State's frontcourt. His defensive presence and ability to spell Andrew Bogut are important for the Warriors, but they don't give him fantasy value outside of the deepest leagues.

Wed Jan 22 201416:40Jermaine O'Neal does shooting at practice
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) was doing some light shooting at practice on Wednesday.
The injury is to his shooting wrist and he's already taking on some contact. O'Neal looks like he's going to beat his initial target date and may even have a chance to play this month. Still, he's only playing 18.6 minutes per game and doesn't have much fantasy value.

Mon Jan 20 201414:35Jermaine O'Neal doing some one-on-one work
Jermaine O'Neal (right wrist) is taking some contact in one-on-one drills on Monday.
He is still targeting a return before the All-Star break and already taking contact is a good sign he'll be ready in time. The Warriors aren't going to be playing JO more than his 18.6 minutes-per-game average upon his return, which will limit his fantasy upside. O'Neal is only worth stashing in very deep leagues.

Thu Jan 16 201418:58Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) may play in 2-3 weeks
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) hopes to rejoin the Warriors before the All-Star break, and GM Bob Myers suggested that he could return in 2-3 weeks.
"When they did the surgery, they said it could be anything from one month to three months," O'Neal said. "It's been about a month and it's coming along pretty well. I'm hoping it's sooner, rather than later." The Warriors are sure to play it safe as they try to keep J.O. healthy for the playoffs, and he'll be a marginal fantasy option while Andrew Bogut is healthy.

Thu Dec 26 201310:12Jermaine O'Neal to have cast removed Thursday
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) will have his cast removed from his right wrist Thursday and promised to return this season.
O'Neal added that the damage to his wrist was worse than doctors originally expected and that he'll remain in Oakland to start "aggressively" rehabbing during the Warriors upcoming seven-game road trip. It's a bit of a leap of faith to trust O'Neal's promise to return this season since that will be determined by the Warriors' medical staff, but fantasy owners can feel free to drop O'Neal from their fantasy radar as he won't be much of a factor even if he is able to return this season.

Fri Dec 13 201317:13Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) will go through rehab
Jermaine O'Neal (right wrist) will begin his rehab immediately after successful arthroscopic surgery.
He is going to try and get back, but it's not going to be easy. There is talk of him missing the rest of the season and it could be a career-ending injury considering he is 35 and hasn't been able to stay healthy for the past four seasons. The Warriors lost three big men with Festus Ezeli (knee) and Ognjen Kuzmic (hand) also needing surgery.

Thu Dec 12 201319:25Jermaine O'Neal will have wrist surgery
Jermaine O'Neal will have arthroscopic surgery on a torn ligament in his right wrist.
It's sad news for a great bench player for the Warriors. O'Neal took on a leadership role with the team despite playing just 18.6 minutes per game and coach Mark Jackson even used him at power forward a bit before going down. There hasn't been an official prognosis, but there was talk of a surgery being season-ending. He can be cut in all leagues. Marreese Speights and Hilton Armstrong picked up most of the minutes at the backup center spot, but neither are deserving of a pickup in really any league. Although, Andrew Bogut's propensity to miss games could be a potential problem.

Thu Dec 12 201304:01Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) contemplating surgery
Jermaine O'Neal is contemplating season-ending surgery on his right (shooting) wrist according to the Associated Press.
While that doesn't sound great we're pretty sure O'Neal wants to be along for the playoff ride, and as long as he's not hurting the team he's a solid bet to grind it out. The situation could ensure that Draymond Green gets 25 minutes per night going forward, and from there the Warriors will turn to Hilton Armstrong and Marreese Speights to backup Andrew Bogut.

Wed Dec 11 201320:56Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) out vs. Mavericks
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) will not play against the Mavericks on Wednesday.
He missed shootaround on Wednesday morning and the Warriors will keep him out. It makes sense to rest him at any chance possible while Andrew Bogut is healthy since he really wore down last season. O'Neal doesn't get enough minutes to matter in most leagues and is more of a deep-league stream than anything else.

Wed Dec 11 201314:12Jermaine O'Neal doesn't go to shootaround
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) did not participate in shootaround on Wednesday and is questionable to face the Mavericks.
It's his second day off the practice court and there is a chance he'll sit out tonight. O'Neal played 18.8 minutes per game over his last five games and coach Mark Jackson has used a dual-center lineup a little over the past week, but he's still not going to see enough playing time to be a reliable guy in most fantasy leagues.

Tue Dec 10 201317:00Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) sits out practice
Jermaine O'Neal (wrist) didn't practice on Tuesday.
This may simply have been a maintenance day for J.O., who intends to play through his injured wrist without having surgery until the offseason. As a precaution we'll list him as 'questionable' to play on Wednesday.

Thu Dec 5 201310:03Jermaine O'Neal playing through wrist injury
Jermaine O'Neal is playing through a a sprained right wrist, but isn't planning to have surgery until after the season.
O'Neal (who has been dealing with groin and knee injuries all season) had previously alluded to a wrist injury, but this is the first in-depth report we've heard about his sprain. According to team sources, the 35-year-old has had the wrist checked out several teams and as recently as Monday, but will not pursue surgery until after the season. O'Neal has been a decent source of rebounds and blocks when healthy, but his health isn't something owners should be betting their mortgage on.

Wed Dec 4 201301:25Jermaine O'Neal instrumental in GSW win
Jermaine O'Neal gave a moving halftime speech on Tuesday and then backed it up with some solid play as the Warriors stunned the Raptors 112-103 after trailing by 27 points in the third quarter.
Klay Thompson said after the game that O'Neal's halftime speech got him fired up and we don't doubt him. The veteran then went out to finish with 11 points, eight rebounds and a block in one of his better games of the season. We don't trust O'Neal much, but when he's feeling good and able to move on the court, he's still an effective big man. But it would have to be a pretty deep league for you to consider picking him up, as his next missed game is probably just around the corner.
