Thu Apr 24 201422:02Luis Scola plays down the stretch
Luis Scola picked up some extra playing time during Thursday's loss to the Hawks with 20 minutes, scoring 17 points with three boards and no turnovers.
Roy Hibbert was as about as useless as an ejection seat in a helicopter tonight and it allowed Scola to play much of the fourth quarter. Scola came out hot in the fourth quarter, making 5-of-5 to start the frame and finishing 7-of-11 over the entire game. The Pacers are a complete mess and it wouldn't be a shock to see coach Frank Vogel mix things up and move Scola into the starting lineup.

Tue Apr 22 201421:44Luis Scola scores 20 off Pacers bench
Luis Scola came off the bench to hit 9-of-14 shots in just 19 minutes and finish with 20 points and seven rebounds in Tuesday's big Game 2 win over the Hawks.
This was Scola's best game of the season off the bench for the Pacers and he picked the right time to make it happen. If David West (8 points, 2 rebounds) continues to struggle against Paul Millsap, we could continue to see more Scola for the rest of this series.

Wed Apr 16 201418:52Luis Scola, Roy Hibbert starting for Pacers
Luis Scola will join George Hill, Evan Turner, Rasual Butler and Roy Hibbert in the starting five for the Pacers tonight.
Scola and Turner look like decent fantasy plays tonight, but we'd stay away from the rest of them.

Wed Apr 9 201423:35Scola leads Pacer reserves, Indy No. 1 again
Luis Scola started for the Pacers, who rested all five starters, and hit 11-of-17 shots for 24 points and nine rebounds as Indy held on for a 104-102 win over the Bucks Tuesday.
Well, that tells you just how bad the Bucks are, while the Pacers actually gained on the Heat with the win tonight. In fact, they passed them moved back into the No. 1 seed in the East, just in time for Friday's game at Miami. Surely the Pacers will stop the nonsense, try to figure out how to get the starters back on the same page and possibly secure homecourt all the way through the Eastern playoffs with a win on Friday. If not, maybe they'll start all the scrubs again, and if that happens, Scola is a must-start. The Pacers have to try to win that game, as the two teams are a combined 18-23 since March 4.

Wed Apr 9 201414:16Luis Scola moving into the starting lineup
Luis Scola will start against the Bucks on Wednesday with all five starters resting.
He's played more that 25 minutes just twice in a game this season, posting a 17-point, four-board game on Nov. 22 and a 12-point, 10-board game on Dec. 10. Scola should be able to put up a double-double with solid field goal percentage, but his potential owners shouldn't expect much else.

Fri Mar 21 201423:13Luis Scola steps up with 19 points vs. CHI
Luis Scola got hot against the Bulls on Friday, scoring a team-high 19 points with six boards and one block in just 20 minutes.
He shot 9-of-12 from the field for his best scoring output as a Pacer. David West has played well as the team's power forward, so he's obviously not in jeopardy of losing playing time to Scola. The Argentine has played just 15.5 minutes per game this month and is really only worth owning in deeper leagues.

Wed Feb 12 201422:29Luis Scola shoots 0-of-5 in loss to Mavericks
Luis Scola grabbed six rebounds but missed all five of his FG attempts in 13 minutes on Wednesday, finishing scoreless in just 13 minutes of action.
As unsightly as Scola's line was tonight, it shouldn't have hurt many fantasy owners given his utter lack of value through the All-Star break. He's hardly worth a glance as long as David West is healthy.

Mon Dec 16 201322:23Luis Scola scores 18 points off the bench
Luis Scola scored a season-high 18 points off the bench on 8-of-11 shooting against the Pistons on Monday to go with four boards and two assists in 20 minutes.
He had his mid-range game working tonight and scored most of his points outside of the paint. Scola has double-digit scoring games in five of his seven games, but has just one block over that span. He's not much help in fantasy outside of points and field goal percentage.

Thu Dec 5 201300:13Luis Scola scores 14 points in 16 minutes
Luis Scola played just 16 minutes off the bench Wednesday, but still had 14 points and six rebounds in a win over the Jazz.
He's averaging 12 points and 5.5 rebounds over his last two games, but scored eight or fewer in each of his previous three games. And the fact he's played 16 or fewer minutes in three straight games means he should be on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues.

Sat Nov 23 201322:07Luis Scola goes 0-of-4 from the field on Sat.
Luis Scola missed all four of his field goal attempts in 21 minutes vs. the Sixers on Saturday.
Scola made three free throws and grabbed five rebounds, but this about sums up his lack of fantasy appeal. The Pacers won the game even without much help from Scola, keeping pace with the Spurs for the best record in the NBA at 12-1. And with Derrick Rose out indefinitely due to a torn medial meniscus, the Pacers seem like a lock to win the Central division.

Fri Nov 22 201322:37Luis Scola pours in 17 in 25 minutes vs. BOS
Luis Scola shot 7-of-9 from the field for 17 points in 25 minutes against the Celtics on Friday to go with four boards, one assist and two steals.
He scored eight points in each of his last three games and didn't top more than 21 minutes in any outing either. Scola has never really had much upside in fantasy for lack of shot blocking, so he's not really someone that will be worth picking up while David West and Roy Hibbert are healthy. West finished with 17 points, eight boards, three assists and three steals in 29 minutes.

Tue Oct 29 201322:07Luis Scola gets 21 minutes vs. Magic
Luis Scola played 21 minutes against the Magic on Tuesday and had eight points, one rebound, one assist and one turnover on 4-of-7 shooting.
He was the only big man on the Pacers not to get any of their 18 blocks on Tuesday, which has been a weakness to his value. While Scola was a great addition to their team in reality, he'll have a tough time sustaining value in most leagues with a healthy David West.

Wed Sep 11 201323:09Luis Scola leads team to 3rd place in FIBA
Luis Scola shot 10-of-19 from the field in Argentina's consolation game victory over the Dominican Republic, scoring 23 points, with nine rebounds and five assists.
Scola was great throughout the tournament and he can obviously still play at a high level. His role in Indiana as a backup to David West really hurts his fantasy value though, as he will likely be more valuable to the Pacers than he is to fantasy owners.

Sun Sep 8 201318:15Luis Scola goes off yet again in FIBA
Luis Scola continued his massive FIBA tournament in a win for Argentina, scoring 23 points with seven boards, two assists, one block and two 3-pointers.
He's hit five 3-pointers in his last four games, which is not something that's usually in his arsenal. In fact, of his 5,714 shot attempts his career, Scola has only made four triples. We're not expecting this to translate to his fantasy value, but his stellar play has to make the Pacers feel good about picking him up from Phoenix. He will come off the bench and isn't worth drafting in standard leagues.

Thu Sep 5 201320:43Luis Scola continues stellar FIBA showing
Luis Scola shot 10-of-17 from the field in Argentina's FIBA win over Puerto Rico on Thursday, scoring 23 points with eight boards, six assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He's been on a tear in his five games, averaging 16 points, 7.2 boards and 3.0 assists in just 28.8 minutes. This summer, the Pacers picked up Scola for very little from the Suns and he could be used to give David West a little more rest this year. Scola isn't quite worth drafting in standard leagues, though.

Fri Aug 2 201315:10Vogel happy to have Luis Scola
Coach Frank Vogel called newly acquired PF Luis Scola "one of the savviest players ever at the power forward spot."
Scola will be an upgrade offensively on last year's backup power forward, Tyler Hansbrough. But he won't come close to the 14.2 points and 7.5 rebounds he's averaged throughout his six-year NBA career. Note that David West played 33.4 minutes a night last year and missed just nine games. Scola may be savvy and a Vogel favorite, but his fantasy value is in the tank.

Sat Jul 27 201314:45Pacers get Luis Scola for Green and Plumlee
The Pacers will trade Miles Plumlee, Gerald Green and a 2014 protected first-round pick to the Suns for Luis Scola.
Scola has been the model of consistency over his career. He's missed just eight games over his six-year career and has shot 50.4 percent from the field in that span. The Suns are in the midst of an overhaul and new GM Ryan McDonough isn't hesitating to put his stamp on the team and has already pulled off a tremendous deal to acquire Eric Bledsoe. Scola's value takes a hit here and he will play behind David West at power forward. Conversely, it looks like Markieff Morris' strong summer league made quite the impression on the Suns and he's gaining quite a bit of momentum.

Sat Jul 27 201300:37Report: Suns close to dealing Scola to Pacers
The Suns are reportedly "close" to dealing Luis Scola to the Pacers.
The closest salary matches are Gerald Green and Ian Mahinmi, and ESPN is reporting that Danny Granger is not a part of the deal. Scola would give the Pacers depth behind David West, where mediocre-at-best Chris Copeland has also been acquired. Stay tuned.

Wed Apr 17 201322:29Luis Scola finishes on a high note for Suns
Luis Scola had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Suns in a loss to the Nuggets in Wednesday's finale.
Scola wrapped things up with his fifth double-double in his final eight games. He was joined by five other Suns in double digits, including Michael Beasley as the Suns were blown out by the Nuggets, who needed a win to get the No. 3 seed in the West.

Wed Apr 17 201309:10Luis Scola rips Phoenix Suns season to shreds
Luis Scola bypassed an opportunity to endorse Lindsey Hunter as head coach of the team, and he ripped the team for its failures this season.
Scola was claimed by Phoenix after being amnestied by Houston, but he's sounded miserable all season long. "I don't make those decisions. I'm just a player," he said when asked about Hunter's future. Then, Scola provided more. "I think it would be a sign of things being bad" when asked about possibly having a new head coach. "But things are bad. It was a bad season. There's just not a lot of positive." It's hard to blame Scola for his comments.
