Danks could not get out of the third inning Sunday against the Twins, and he allowed seven runs (three earned) on eight hits in 2.1 innings of work to take his third loss of the season.
On the plus side, he struck out three and did not walk a batter. He played in front of a patchwork defense that committed four errors in the game, but the defense can not be blamed for the grand slam he allowed. The White Sox are reeling lately, and it would not be a surprise to see them try to shake it up soon and replace Danks or Hector Noesi with Carlos Rodon.

Danks tossed his best game of the season on Sunday, allowing three runs on five hits, one walk and eight strikeouts over 6.0 innings against the Royals.
The lefty was off to a shaky start to the season before posting back-to-back quality starts, although his ERA still sits at 5.64. Danks will look to keep this recent momentum going against the impotent Twins offense on Friday.

Danks' scheduled start against the Royals on Saturday has been postponed due to rain.
No make-up date has been announced, so the White Sox may alter the rotation simply by moving all of the starters back a day. Friday's suspended game will resume in the ninth inning Sunday before the final game of the series begins, which likely rules out a doubleheader to close out the weekend.

Danks had his best start of the season Monday, taking a no-decision after allowing three runs in six innings against the Indians.
The lefty has not had a good start to the season, allowing 11 runs in his three starts. After a rough 2014 in which he posted a 4.74 ERA and 1.44 WHIP, Danks will try to find his footing on the rubber this weekend against the Royals.

Danks struck out three and walked two while allowing four runs -- three earned -- on six hits over 4.2 innings in a losing effort Wednesday.
Failing to get through five innings, Danks simply couldn't fool the Cleveland lineup in Wednesday's outing (five swinging strikes, 87 pitches). His contract figures to offer up a long leash as a member of the rotation on the south side of Chicago, and Danks will try to turn it around with a two-start week beginning Monday at home against the Tribe before an April 25 home start against Kansas City.

Danks gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings Thursday against Kansas City. He struck out just one batter.
An ugly start to things for Danks, but that's no surprise -- he hasn't been anything remotely close to a legitimate fantasy asset since 2010. The fact that Danks has held down a rotation spot for the White Sox through these years of poor pitching is borderline unbelievable; most fantasy owners, on the other hand, have long since learned their lesson and abandoned him to the waiver wire, where he belongs in the vast majority of formats.

Danks will pitch in a simulated game Tuesday instead of making his scheduled start in a Cactus League game, CSN Chicago reports.
There does not appear to be an injury at play. Rather, the team would like to give pitching prospect Tyler Danish a shot at more advanced batters. Danks remains on track to serve as the club's No. 4 starter to start the year.

Danks turned in six strong innings versus the Rays on Sunday afternoon, giving up two earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five en route to his 10th win of the season.
Despite a mostly inconsistent campaign, Danks appears intent on putting up a strong finish to his 2014 season. Over his last three starts, the veteran lefty has allowed just four earned runs on 11 hits while recording 14 strikeouts across 18 innings. Danks is scheduled to be back on the mound Saturday versus the Royals.

Danks took a no-decision Monday, holding the Royals without a run in six innings of work.
Danks did walk four in the outing, but was able to prevent any damage by allowing just two hits and striking out six. The lefty has pitched well since his disastrous start to the month, lowering his ERA back bellow five to 4.88. Danks' next start will come against the Rays this weekend.

Danks pitched six innings Tuesday, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk, while striking out three in the loss.
Danks has simply not been getting it done of late, as he has allowed 11 runs (nine earned) on 18 hits and two walks in his last two starts. Actually, Danks has been erratic all season and now has a paltry 5.05 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 115:65 K:BB in 174.2 innings this year. His next start is set for Monday on the road against the Royals.

Danks (9-10) was hit hard Wednesday, coughing up seven runs on 11 hits with a walk and three strikeouts over 4.2 innings against the Twins.
Five of the seven hits Danks allowed went for extra bases. The lefty's season is trending in the wrong direction. After a solid June (3.41 ERA), Danks was hit hard in July (5.15) and was even worse in August (6.75). He'll try to turn his season around Tuesday versus the A's.

Danks made a quality start against Cleveland on Thursday, allowing two runs and five hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out five, tossing 101 pitches.
Danks got off to an ominous start, surrendering a leadoff triple to Michael Bourn, who scored on a RBI groundout. The veteran lefty settled down from there though, giving up just one more run until he was pulled in the seventh inning. Other than Thursday's start, Danks has really struggled since the middle of July though, posting a 7.98 ERA in his previous 38.1 inning. If you need him for innings or are in a super deep league, he'll get the Twins on the road in his next start.

Danks allowed three runs on six hits, walking three and striking out four over five-plus innings but was left with a no-decision in the White Sox 4-3 loss to the Yankees on Friday night.
It wasn't exactly a dominating performance, but it was at least somewhat encouraging. He went through a stretch of five starts where he allowed 28 earned runs over 27.1 innings, but has looked a bit better in his last two. He remains a risky play for his next start against the Indians in Cleveland.

Danks pitched just 4.2 innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits (including four home runs) and five walks while striking out five batters in picking up his seventh loss (9-7) of the year in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
Danks has been mired in a terrible slump of late. He has allowed 24 runs in his last four starts (spanning 23 innings) and has seen his ERA jump from 3.99 to 4.93 in the process. Couple that with an ugly 1.47 WHIP and 99:55 K:BB ratio and Danks is hard pitcher to trust these days. He will look to turn it around in his next start, which is set for Sunday on the road against the Mariners.

Danks allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks over five innings Thursday against Detroit. He struck out two and was victimized by a pair of homers.
An ugly outing for Danks, who had been questionable to start due to trade rumors. He ended up staying in Chicago, but White Sox fans and fantasy owners aren't too thankful, considering the 15 earned runs he's allowed in his last 16.1 innings.

Danks remains set to make his scheduled start Thursday against the Tigers, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
Danks has been linked in trade rumors with the Yankees for the last several days, but unless the two teams conceive a deal in the hours leading up to the Tigers' afternoon tilt, the lefty will take a mound. Still, there would seem to be a decent chance that a trade could be made in the in the middle of the outing, which would likely mean an early pull for Danks. It's probably worth avoiding this headache altogether in leagues with daily moves by keeping Danks on the bench.
Wed Jul 30 201422:19Marlins discussing Danks trade with White Sox
FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports the Marlins and White Sox have discussed a possible trade involving John Danks.
The Marlins are in a difficult position, stuck somewhere between a buyer and a seller. With their recent winning streak, though, it appears they've become buyers. Danks is signed through 2016, so any team taking him on would also have concerns about the $28.5 million he's owed over the duration of his deal.

Wed Jul 30 201419:03Yanks not interested in picking up Danks' tab
Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports the Yankees aren't interested in the $28.5 million John Danks will make in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
Danks will make $14.5 million in each of the next two seasons before becoming a free agent, and the Yankees aren't wild about taking on that kind of salary. It appears the White Sox would need to be willing to eat some of that salary, and it's unclear whether they'd be willing to do that at this point. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has reported the Yankees' continued interest in the left-hander in recent days.

Sun Jul 27 201419:10Yankees still interested in John Danks
According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, the Yankees remain interested in White Sox hurler John Danks.
The idea to acquire Ian Kennedy from the Padres seems to be losing steam, which makes Danks among the most likely trade targets for the Yankees to acquire. The veteran southpaw is 9-6 on the season with a 4.40 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.

Fri Jul 25 201423:08John Danks fans five in victory over Twins
John Danks picked up his ninth victory of the season on Friday, limiting the Twins to four runs on six hits over seven innings of work.
Danks punched out five on the night without walking a batter. Staked to a big early lead, Danks was in cruise control most of the night, throwing plenty of strikes and giving the White Sox bullpen a bit of a rest. He'll bring a 4.40 ERA and 1.39 WHIP into Thursday's matchup against the Tigers in Detroit.
