Tue Apr 16 201322:12Axelrod effective as White Sox beat Blue Jays
Dylan Axelrod allowed two runs in seven innings on Tuesday, helping the White Sox beat the Blue Jays.
The 27-year-old was good enough to get the win but took a no-decision, allowing just two solo home runs on the evening. He now owns a respectable 4.70 ERA on the young season. Still, his upside is low enough that he should only be rostered in AL-only leagues.

Thu Apr 11 201322:42Dylan Axelrod gives up six runs
Dylan Axelrod was lit up for six runs in 3 2/3 innings by the Nationals on Thursday.
We're not sure what the White Sox were doing intentionally walking Bryce Harper with two outs in the fourth, but they were punished for it, as Ryan Zimmerman plated both Jayson Werth and Harper on his double. Axelrod was pulled immediately afterwards with the White Sox down 6-3. He wasn't very good at all tonight, but maybe he would have given up just the four runs if not for the over-managing from Robin Ventura.

Tue Mar 26 201319:28White Sox name Dylan Axelrod fifth starter
The White Sox have named Dylan Axelrod their fifth starter.
He was expected to get the nod over Hector Santiago after John Danks was placed on the DL. Axelrod earned the gig by holding a 3.21 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 12/2 K/BB ratio over 14 innings this spring. His career 4.78 ERA is less than inspiring, but Axelrod has a nice minor league track record and could have some AL-only value.

Thu Jun 28 201223:58Axelrod stellar in no-decision vs. Yankees
Dylan Axelrod pitched extremely well against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing just two runs on six hits over seven innings of work.
Axelrod struck out four and walked three in the game. He surrendered a pair of RBI doubles in the fifth inning to Alex Rodriguez and Robinson Cano, leading to all of the damage against him. He left the game trailing 2-1, but a late rally from the White Sox took him off the hook for the loss. He makes for a decent speculative add while Phil Humber is on the DL and will take on the Rangers at home on Wednesday.

Fri Jun 22 201218:05Dylan Axelrod to start Saturday
Dylan Axelrod will start Saturday against the Brewers.
He'll be starting in place of Phil Humber, who was placed on the disabled list Friday with a right elbow flexor strain. Axelrod has made three appearances at the major league level this season and had a 3.18 ERA and 66/18 K/BB ratio over 68 innings with Triple-A Charlotte. He's worth watching in AL-only leagues, but his upcoming matchups (including Thursday against the Yankees) don't inspire much enthusiasm.
