Fri Mar 15 201316:19John Lannan goes five scoreless
John Lannan blanked the Rays for five innings Friday to lower his spring ERA to 3.21.
Lannan for $2.5 million should prove to be a nice little bargain for the Phillies. Not that he's likely to be more than a generic fourth- or fifth-starter type, but pitchers as reliable as he is still tend to go for quite a bit more.

Wed Dec 5 201219:39John Lannan seeing plenty of interest
The Washington Times' Amanda Comack hears that John Lannan has drawn interest from 11 teams.
Comack adds that all clubs are willing to give the left-hander a major league deal. Lannan spent most of 2012 in the minors, but he holds a career 4.01 ERA over parts of six seasons and wouldn't be a bad guy to fill out the end of a rotation. The Mets and Twins have previously been linked to the southpaw.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets have shown interest in free agent left-hander John Lannan.

Sun Dec 2 201218:44Twins to 'kick tires hard' on John Lannan
The Twins are looking at free agent John Lannan.
Lannan was non-tendered last week and is drawing interest at Winter Meetings as a low-cost starter. He spent the majority of 2012 with the Nationals' Triple-A affilaite, but went 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA in six starts at the major league level. The Twins are expected to focus more on free agents than trades this offseason, and have already spoken with Francisco Liriano and Brett Myers, who is looking for a starting role after pitching exclusively out of the bullpen last year. Lannan figures to be a popular name for teams looking for starting pitching depth.

Wed Oct 3 201211:47Nats would consider Lannan vs. Braves
Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Wednesday that he would consider using John Lannan in the rotation if they face the Braves during the playoffs.
Lannan allowed two runs over seven innings against the Braves in a spot-start back on July 21 and has a 3.20 ERA in 16 starts against the club for his career. There's a decent chance he would be on the postseason roster vs. the Braves at the very least.

John Lannan held the Phillies to two runs over five innings in Monday's loss.
It wasn't easy, as Lannan allowed six hits and three walks, but he was able to limit the damage other than a Darin Ruf two-RBI triple. John Lannan held the Phillies to two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings Wednesday in a Nationals victory.
Lannan struck out three and issued just one walk. He's been effective in two of his three starts since rejoining the Nationals' rotation on September 12 and should have one more solid outing in him. The left-hander will wrap up his regular season next week against these same Phils.

Wed Sep 12 201222:47John Lannan moves to 3-0
Making his first start in place of Stephen Strasburg, John Lannan held the Mets to five hits in 5 2/3 scoreless innings of Wednesday's 2-0 win.
Lannan struck out two and walked one in improving to 3-0 in his three 2012 starts. Lannan's not exactly going to be Strasburg-esque don't the stretch, but should give the Nats a quality start most times out. He's a perfectly fine own for NL-only league players. He'll get the Braves at home next week.
