Norris went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in a 10-7 win over the Dodgers on Thursday.
This was his first multi-base hit since August 22 and it's nice to see the struggling catcher have some success. The OPS and slugging percentage have been steadily dropping since the second month of the season and his ownership percentage in standard mixed leagues has been dropping just as rapidly. With only two homers and 11 RBI since the end of June, it's hard to trust Norris right now.

Norris (shoulder) is in the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers.
The catcher was expected to miss a few games after aggravating a shoulder injury Wednesday, but he'll tough it out and remain behind the plate for the Padres' series opener against the Dodgers. While it's a good sign that he's back in the lineup Thursday, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if he gets rested for a game over the weekend to allow Rocky Gale or Austin Hedges to get some at-bats.

Norris (wrist) is expected to rejoin the lineup Tuesday, Corey Brock of MLB.com reports.
Norris' X-rays thankfully returned negative after he was crossed up on a pitch that resulted in him taking a fastball off the wrist. While he will take Sunday's day off with a sore and swollen wrist, some extra rest with Monday's day off could be enough for him to rejoin the lineup.
Sun Aug 23 201515:03Norris (wrist) isn't listed in Sunday's lineup against Cardinals
Norris (wrist) isn't listed in Sunday's lineup against the Cardinals, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Norris was pulled out of Saturday's contest after he was struck on the wrist by a fastball, but X-rays came back negative for the Padres catcher. The Padres were planning on giving Norris the day off Sunday in any case, so the team is hopeful he'll be ready to go in advance of Tuesday's series opener in Washington.

Norris went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in a 9-5 win over the Rockies on Friday.
Norris has been mired in a slump for months, but the visit to Denver could help his cause. Even with the recent struggles, he still has 13 homers, 53 RBI, and 49 runs scored in 106 games. Those are still solid enough numbers to own in a standard mixed league even though his ownership percentage has been steadily declining.

Norris is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds.
Austin Hedges will start behind the plate for a second straight night, as Norris sits after manning first base in the series opener against Cincinnati. Norris doubled in Monday's win, just his third extra-base hit since July 25.

He showed some signs of life at the end of July, collecting seven hits in his final two games, just three fewer than he had in his first 18 games of the month. However, Norris has gone 2-for-11 to begin August and is now set to sit in favor of Austin Hedges for the second time in three games. The 26-year-old Norris is batting below the Mendoza Line (.194 average) since the start of June.

Norris had an enormous game against the Mets on Thursday, going 5-for-5 with a grand slam and a pair of runs.
All the other hits were singles, but you won't hear Norris's fantasy owners complaining, considering his batting average had fallen to a season-low .227 entering play Thursday. In fact, even with this Herculean effort, his combined batting average for June and July is still just .188. The big blast also represented his first RBI in 19 contests this month -- quite a far cry from his early returns. Norris clearly has plentiful hitting talent, but the 26-year-old hasn't quite put it all together yet. Still, this slump might make him an attractive buy-low target in deeper keeper formats.
Wed Jul 29 201515:57Norris out of lineup Wednesday against Mets
Norris is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Mets.
Norris has gone 0-for-10 in his past three games, and will receive Wednesday's game off after four straight starts behind the dish. Austin Hedges will get the call in his place, and will bat eighth for the Padres.

Sat Jul 18 201517:40Norris isn't in Padres' lineup Saturday versus Rockies
Norris isn't in the Padres' lineup Saturday versus the Rockies.
Since June 1, Norris has posted a miserable .168 average, but he smashed seven of his 11 home runs on the season last month, which salvaged that stretch. In any case, he'll hand over catching duties to Austin Hedges, who is batting eighth in the order.
