Sun Nov 21 201004:38Forbes scores four points on Saturday
Gary Forbes scored four points on 2-of-2 shooting with one rebound and one assist in 11 minutes off the bench.
J.R. Smith looks like he's sort of out of the doghouse now, and even if he wasn't, Forbes was always a long-shot for having fantasy value. He's waiver wire fodder until he makes some noise again.
Wed Nov 17 201002:30Forbes scores 19 points with nine boards
Rookie Gary Forbes scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting (3-of-3 from downtown) with nine rebounds, no assists, and one steal in 23 minutes off the bench.
This game was a fantasy pinball machine, which knocks this line down a few pegs for us. He has displaced J.R. Smith from the rotation for right now, and how long that can continue is anybody's guess, but either way he's probably not worth a pickup unless you're in a 20-team league.
Sun Nov 14 201011:54Forbes making a name for himself
Gary Forbes is carving out a role, albeit a minimal one, in head coach George Karl's rotation.
Through six games, two of which were starts, the international journeyman is averaging 7.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.7 minutes per game. Karl has found Forbes' versatility useful as a bench player capable of filling in at small forward or power forward (despite lacking the ideal size for the position). Forbes isn't a fantasy option in any format right now, but he'd stand to gain if a Carmelo Anthony trade ever materializes.

Sun Nov 7 201002:20Forbes quiet in spot start for Nene (groin)
Gary Forbes started for injured Nene (groin) on Saturday, and scored just eight point son 3-of-4 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound in 12 minutes.
Melvin Ely, who started in Nene's place on Friday, actually got more run with 22 minutes and had five points with seven rebounds, a steal, and block. Even if Nene is remains out, neither are options in most fantasy formats.
Fri Nov 5 201014:06Gary Forbes won't start on Friday, regardless
Nuggets forward Gary Forbes will not start vs. the Clippers on Friday, regardless of whether Nene (groin) is in the lineup.
George Karl wants more size in the starting five, but he doesn't have too many options. Seldom-used Melvin Ely could get the nod, or even Al Harrington, but if Nene is healthy enough to play it will be a moot point.

Thu Nov 4 201002:39Gary Forbes starts for Nene, scores 12
Gary Forbes, who is not even available to pick up in some formats, started for Nene on Wednesday and hit 6-of-12 shots for 12 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in Wednesday's loss.
He played in the Philippines and Israel last season but impressed George Karl enough to earn a start tonight. He's only an option in 20- or 30-team leagues, and even then we doubt he pans out. But with Nene still iffy for Friday with a groin injury, keep an eye on the unknown rookie.
Wed Nov 3 201021:51Forbes starts in place of Nene
Rookie Gary Forbes started in place of Nene (groin) Wednesday and quickly scored 10 points before the end of the first half.
He won't be worth a look in smaller leagues, but if you play in a league where the waiver wire is bare, he might be worth a flier.
Mon Oct 18 201001:05Forbes pitches in 22 off the bench
Gary Forbes pitched in 22 points as a reserve on Sunday, going 5-of-10 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the line with two three-pointers, two rebounds, four assists, two steals and four turnovers.
Forbes made a compelling case as to why he should make the team, but without a few significant injuries ahead of him, he stands no chance of making a fantasy impact this season.
