Sat Mar 30 201323:43Greg Stiemsma plays 40 minutes Saturday
Greg Stiemsma played a career-high 40 minutes against the Grizzlies on Saturday and had 12 points, seven boards, two steals and two blocks in a start for the injured Nikola Pekovic (ankle).
Pekovic was a late scratch with an ankle injury and Rick Adelman leaned heavily on their only true big man left. The Wolves willl play against the Celtics on Monday and Pekovic should be considered questionable. If Pek is out, Stiemsma makes for an interesting spot-start against his former team.

Sat Mar 23 201301:22Stiemsma double-doubles with three blocks
Greg Stiemsma saw some extra playing time due to the score and also because of Nikola Pekovic's foul trouble, scoring 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds and three blocks in Friday's blowout win.
Stiemsma logged 34 minutes and the opposing Suns had just Hamed Haddadi at the center position, so owners should take this output with a grain of salt. As long as Pek is healthy, he won't be limited to 14 minutes all that often.

Sun Mar 17 201321:52Stiemsma back to bench role for Wolves
Greg Stiemsma's run as the starting center ended vs. the Hornets, as he had just five points, two rebounds and zero blocks off the bench.
Nikola Pekovic was playing without limitations in his return from a strained abdominal muscle, and there's no reason to cling to Stiemsma in average leagues. It was fun while it lasted.

Fri Mar 15 201323:50The Stiemer scores 12, blocks four shots
Greg Stiemsma scored 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting with five rebounds and four blocks over 32 minutes on Friday against the Rockets.
As long as Nikola Pekovic (abdomen) is out, Stiemsma will be worth a look for any team needing a big man or blocks.

Wed Mar 13 201322:43Greg Stiemsma plays well in loss to Pacers
Greg Stiemsma had 13 points, nine rebounds, a steal and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Pacers.
This was one of his better lines of the season, but he's scored in double digits just twice in his last 10 games, and has failed to hit double figures in rebounds a single time this season. But if you need blocks and a warm body at center, he's worth a look until Nikola Pekovic is finally back from his ab strain, as he is now averaging nearly 10 points, eight rebounds and a block over his last three.

Tue Mar 12 201323:44Greg Stiemsma plays well in shocking win
Greg Stiemsma had six points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block in 24 minutes of Tuesday's easy win over the Spurs.
Look for Stiemsma, who has been playing well with Nikola Pekovic sidelined, to have more success on Wednesday, as Pek has already been ruled out for that one.

Sun Mar 10 201322:11Greg Stiemsma scores 10 points on Sunday
Greg Stiemsma scored 10 points with eight rebounds and two steals in Sunday's blowout loss, playing 31 minutes in another start at center.
He shot 5-of-10 from the field, setting a new season-high for shot attempts. He's played fairly well in two straight games but tonight's results were skewed by the lopsided score. Stiemsma is nothing more than a blocks specialist until Nikola Pekovic returns to action.

Sat Mar 9 201323:51Greg Stiemsma turns in nice line vs. Denver
Greg Stiemsma had his best game in two weeks on Saturday, scoring eight points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.
The Stiemer has had a golden opportunity with Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and Andrei Kirilenko all out with injuries. He's been awful in the past six games, however, with a grand total of five points, two assists, one steal and one block. Look elsewhere for reliable value.

Sun Mar 3 201300:35Greg Stiemsma block-less in 14 minutes
Greg Stiemsma played 14 minutes in a start at center on Saturday, going scoreless with six rebounds, one steal and zero blocks.
Stiemsma may have been picked up in a few deep leagues as a blocks specialist, but that didn't work out. He racked up four fouls in limited minutes and Rick Adelman quickly went to smaller lineups.

Sat Jan 26 201322:51Stiemsma ties season highs with 11 & 7
Greg Stiemsma tied season highs with 11 points and seven rebounds, and added a couple blocks in Saturday's loss to the Bobcats.
Stiemsma's run should be coming to an end soon with Nikola Pekovic nearing a return from a sprained ankle, but he is getting enough run to be used until it happens.

Mon Jan 21 201317:26Stiemsma scores 11 points in another start
Greg Stiemsma started at center again on Monday, scoring 11 points with five rebounds and two blocks.
This was his third game in double-figures all season and he remains a blocks specialist whose value is limited to deep leagues, especially with Nikola Pekovic (quad) due back next week.

Sat Jan 19 201323:22Greg Stiemsma puts up no points
Greg Stiemsma shot 0-of-4 from the field for no points with five boards and two blocks in 22 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday.
The two blocks are nice, but only seeing 22 minutes when the Wolves needed him the most is certainly discouraging. Stiemsma is really a one-trick pony for blocks and he will only have value in deep leagues while Nikola Pekovic (quad) is out for a week.

Wed Nov 14 201223:42Greg Stiemsma starts at center for Wolves
Greg Stiemsma started at center for injured Nikola Pekovic and had one point, seven rebounds, a steal and two more blocks on Wednesday.
He was 0-for-6 shooting tonight, but as long as Pekovic is out, Stiemsma should block a lot of shots. He's worth a look in daily leagues as a plug-and-play if you need blocks, but only for as long as Pekovic will be out with his sprained ankle.

Thu Nov 8 201200:19Stiemsma comes to life in win over Magic
Greg Stiemsma got hot on Wednesday and finished with a season-high 12 points, five rebounds, a steal and two blocks in 21 minutes.
It wouldn't be surprising if this ends up being Stiemsma's highest scoring game of the season, as he's know for his shot blocking, and not his scoring ability. But this was a nice game and if you're in a deep league and desperate for blocks, he is worth a look. He blocked four shots in 17 minutes on Sunday.

Sun Nov 4 201220:34Greg Stiemsma blocks four more shots
Greg Stiemsma blocked four shots in 17 minutes on Sunday, giving him eight blocks through two games.
This is not a fluke. Stiemsma averaged 1.5 blocks and 0.7 steals in a mere 14 minutes per game with Boston last year, and so far his plantar fasciitis has been a non-issue. Owners desperate for swats should look no further unless Kevin Seraphin or Larry Sanders is available.

Sat Nov 3 201205:45Stiemsma blocks four shots vs. Kings
Greg Stiemsma blocked four shots against the Kings on Friday.
Stiemsma added nine points, seven boards, and one steal in his 16 minutes, but the blocks are the only thing that should matter to owners at this point. He won't be productive enough in any other category to be anything but a deep league specialist.

Fri Oct 12 201209:49Greg Stiemsma's conditioning has improved
Greg Stiemsma's conditioning has improved.
This is confirmation that "The Steamer" is feeling good heading into the season, but he may battle the dreaded plantar fasciitis again this year at some point. As long as Nikola Pekovic remains healthy, Stiemsma will be a bargain bin blocks specialist in deeper formats.

Fri Oct 5 201212:45Greg Stiemsma says feet feeling 'really good'
Greg Stiemsma said that his feet are feeling "really good."
Stiemsma has been able to participate in all 5-on-5 activity and has had no setbacks in the process. It's entirely possible he'll battle plantar fasciitis again at some point this season, but the good news here is that he's been able to stay healthy in the early portion of training camp.

Wed Oct 3 201210:38Greg Stiemsma goes through entire practice
Greg Stiemsma (foot) went through the entire practice session on Tuesday.
Despite GM David Kahn saying that Stiemsma would be limited in the early portion of camp, he made it through the entire session unscathed and it appears he'll be ready to go for the regular season.

Tue Oct 2 201208:52Greg Stiemsma to be limited in training camp
Greg Stiemsma (plantar fasciitis) will be limited in the early portion of training camp.
There have been conflicting reports about Stiemsma's battle with plantar fasciitis, and it's definitely concerning that it's still an issue at this juncture. Stiemsma has had plantar fasciitis since last season, and it was so bad at one point that he spent time in a walking boot. Although previously Stiemsma was deemed "fine," we're keeping a close eye on his health. Nikola Pekovic is locked into major minutes.
