Wed Dec 4 201320:02DeJuan Blair will start at center on vs. NOP
DeJuan Blair will start at center for the Mavericks against the Pelicans on Wednesday.
It is his second start of the season with his first one coming after Samuel Dalembert oversleeping and missing morning shoot around last month. Blair has been terrific based on per-minute value, so if he can elevate his 20.8 minutes per game to over 24, he could gain a nice chunk of value.

Tue Dec 3 201323:58DeJuan Blair struggles against Bobcats
DeJuan Blair hit just 1-of-4 shots for two points and seven rebounds in Tuesday's win over the Bobcats.
Blair came in fairly hot and just couldn't get his shot to fall against Al Jefferson. He may have burned you in a daily league tonight, but chances are he bounces back on Wednesday against the Pelicans.

Sat Nov 30 201301:47DeJuan Blair grabs 18 rebounds off the bench
DeJuan Blair grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds off the bench on Friday, and also chipped in with nine points and one assist.
Blair hit 7-of-8 freebies to sweeten this line but with Brandan Wright's return from a shoulder injury looming owners don't have a lot to cheer about. Just ride Blair until the wheels fall off.

Tue Nov 26 201301:00DeJuan Blair gets 19 minutes in start
DeJuan Blair scored 10 points with eight boards and one steal in 19 minutes during his first start of the season on Monday.
Even in the starting lineup, Blair couldn't get more than just 20.4 minutes per game. Blair has been able to hold enough value with his 1.8 steals per game to remain owned in standard leagues, but his upside is going to remain very low.

Sat Nov 23 201303:38Blair just misses double-double in 19 minutes
DeJuan Blair just missed a double-double in 19 minutes on Friday against the Jazz, scoring 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds and a steal.
If you correctly assessed that Blair's role was minimized due to playing two running teams during his recent slide, congratulations go out to you. Despite his low minutes and small margin of error he's a late-round value on the year, including those two awful games. Give him a hard look in 12-team leagues and in particular leagues in which you can monitor his matchup.

Tue Nov 19 201300:00Blair invisible in win over Sixers
DeJuan Blair played just seven minutes on Monday, with just two rebounds and one assist to his credit.
Blair could have easily been discarded by Rick Carlisle due to the Sixers' small lineup, but this disappearance comes right when Blair had shown enough consistency to be in lineups. Try not to let one game against an outlier squad shake your perception of him, but it does highlight how bench players with smaller roles can be hard to rely upon.

Sat Nov 16 201321:51DeJuan Blair scores 18 in Mavs win
Dejuan Blair hit 7-of-9 shots for 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in Saturday's win over the Magic.
This was easily his season high in points and he's had at least two steals in all but three games this year. He's not going to be a superstar, but if you use him on the right night, he can be very good in daily leagues, and also carries some value in deeper leagues.

Sat Nov 16 201301:31Blair puts up versatile, solid line vs. MIA
DeJuan Blair put up a solid, versatile line on Friday, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks in 27 minutes.
A matchup against a thin Miami squad that struggles against interior players is about as good as it gets for a guy like Blair, but let's not pretend that this is his first time putting up serviceable numbers. He's a mid-to-late round value on the year and we don't know when Brandan Wright (shoulder) is coming back. He's a sneaky add right now with a nine-game track record of success.

Tue Nov 12 201323:24DeJuan Blair nearly double-doubles in win
DeJuan Blair continued his strong play on Tuesday with nine points and 11 rebounds on 4-of-6 shooting in 24 minutes.
He led the Mavericks with a +/- of +20 and is averaging 8.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals over his last five games. If you need a big man in a deep league, he's worth a look.

Sun Nov 10 201300:51DeJuan Blair goes for 7 & 11, 3 steals
DeJuan Blair had seven points, 11 rebounds and three more steals on 3-of-5 shooting in 22 minutes on Saturday.
Blair is quietly averaging 8.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.0 steals over his last five games, so if you need a big man who can steal the ball, he's your guy. Just don't expect a lot of points as long as Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion are healthy and racking it up from the forward spots.

Sat Nov 9 201302:52Blair continues to post low-end value for DAL
DeJuan Blair continued to produce for fantasy owners on Friday, putting up eight points on 4-of-6 shooting with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes off the bench.
Blair is locked into his current role and while he has a big-time outlier in steals (2.3), he's one of the league's better big men in that department and when you add it up he's right on the border of mid-to-late round value. Brandan Wright's eventual return will hurt, but Wright doesn't have a timetable yet so owners should give Blair strong consideration as a short-term play.

Thu Nov 7 201302:58DeJuan Blair's minutes staying consistent
DeJuan Blair played 19 minutes off the bench against the Thunder on Wednesday, shooting 4-of-8 from the field for eight points with three boards, one assist and one steal.
He's been between 18 and 22 minutes in each of his five games, but he's actually been productive in that time with averages of 9.5 points, 7.8 boards and 2.8 steals. Blair is at least on the radar in most leagues, but he doesn't block shots much and is not going to have any lines that will make your week at just a 20-MPG clip.

Wed Nov 6 201300:08DeJuan Blair looks great in win over Lakers
DeJuan Blair's strong play continued on Tuesday as he finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists, five steals and a block on 5-of-10 shooting.
He played just 19 minutes, which makes his line even more impressive. He got some garbage time run tonight in an easy win over the Lakers, but has been playing well enough to be considered in all leagues. He's averaging nine points, seven boards, two steals and nearly a block per game thus far.

Sat Nov 2 201300:28DeJuan Blair gets a double-double Friday
DeJuan Blair had his first double-double as a Maverick on Friday with 11 points and 10 boards in 18 minutes.
He added two blocks and shot 5-of-11 from the field. Unlike in San Antonio, the Mavericks are going to play Blair, at least until Brandan Wright comes back. Still, it's hard to like a guy with only 20 minutes per game, so he'll need an injury to be fantasy relevant in most cases.

Thu Oct 24 201301:11DeJuan Blair plays well off Mavs bench
DeJuan Blair came off the bench for six points, 10 rebounds, a block and a steal on 3-of-6 shooting in 18 minutes Wednesday.
He'll play more than he did at the end of his time in San Antonio, but he's still parked behind Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas. As long as Dirk is healthy, Blair will struggle to make a fantasy impact.

Mon Oct 14 201309:57DeJuan Blair eyes bigger role without Wright
DeJuan Blair is eager to capitalize on extra playing time at PF and C while Brandan Wright (shoulder) is sidelined.
Wright doesn't have a return timetable, which gives Blair a temporarly window as the Mavs' primary backup big man. Unfortunately, the undersized big man's lack of shot-blocking severely undermines his fantasy appeal.

Wed Aug 21 201312:19Carlisle: Blair to be 'enforcer' for Mavs
Rick Carlisle expects DeJuan Blair to be an "enforcer" for the Mavericks this season.
"DeJuan was a really important acquisition for us because Elton Brand didn't return," Carlisle said. Blair wa upset about falling out of the Spurs' rotation in the playoffs and he's motivated to prove his worth, but fantasy owners can't expect value while he's cleaning up minutes alongside Dirk Nowitzki, Samuel Dalembert and Brandan Wright.

Sun Aug 18 201320:12DeJuan Blair takes a shot at the Spurs
DeJuan Blair said that he thinks the Spurs would have beat the Heat in the NBA Finals had he played more.
"Of course I want to get back. I don't think [the Spurs] would have came up short if I would've played but, hey, keep that out there," Blair said. It was a bumpy finish for Blair in San Antonio and he'll get a new start in Dallas. He has no fantasy value.

Wed Jul 31 201322:44DeJuan Blair officially signs with Mavericks
Mavericks officially sign F/C DeJuan Blair on Wednesday.
Blair will give the Mavericks a legitimate back up at both big-man positions, allowing Shawn Marion to focus his efforts on playing small forward all season. Blair has potential, but given his quiet role in San Antonio and the depth of the Mavs' front court, we're not expecting a breakout in Dallas this year.
