Mon May 7 201210:21Delonte West won't be back with Mavs?
Unrestricted free agent Delonte West is not expected back with the Mavs, according to ESPN Dallas.
West played this past season on a one-year deal for the veteran's minimum. Now he's looking for a multi-year deal from someone. The Mavs are expected to use their cap space on big-name free agents in July, need to re-sign Jason Terry and also have Roddy Beaubois under contract as a combo guard.

Sun Apr 29 201200:36Delonte West plays through illness
Delonte West, playing through illness, finished Saturday's tough Game 1 loss with five points, one 3-pointer, two rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes.
West started at SG, as expected, and was relieved by Vince Carter and a red-hot Jason Terry, who scored 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting (including 4-of-5 from downtown).

Sat Apr 28 201220:36Delonte West available to play in Game 1
Delonte West (illness) took an IV prior to Game 1 on Saturday, and he will be available for the Mavs.
"We need his minutes," said coach Rick Carlisle. West gives the Mavericks tough perimeter defense, capable playmaking, and veteran leadership. His toughness and versatility will be crucial against Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

Sat Apr 28 201214:13Delonte West (flu) iffy for Game 1 vs. OKC
Delonte West missed Saturday's shootaround with an illness, and he will be a game-time decision vs. the Thunder.
The Mavs are already facing an uphill battle against the young, athletic, uber-talented Thunder, and losing West would weaken their backcourt. If he can't play, the Mavs will need more from guys like Roddy Beaubois, Vince Carter and Jason Terry.

Sat Apr 21 201223:22Delonte West looks good in start at SG
Delonte West played 31 minutes in a start at SG on Saturday, scoring 13 points with three rebounds and two assists.
West was needed with both Jason Kidd and Jason Terry on the sidelines, and he didn't disappoint. His occasionally bizarre decision-making aside, West is a luxury to have coming off the bench in any playoff series.

Fri Apr 20 201223:33Delonte West scores 16 points in victory
Delonte West scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with three rebounds and four assists on Friday night as the Mavericks defeated the Warriors.
West is really in a groove right now, and the return of Roddy Beaubois (no points, three rebounds and two assists tonight) hasn't done anything to cool him off. Ride the hot hand.

Wed Apr 18 201215:13Delonte West fined for giving 'wet willy'
Delonte West has been fined $25,000 for giving Gordon Hayward a "wet willy" during Tuesday's game.
West got frustrated by Hayward's play and admitted to getting caught up in the heat of the battle, saying, "I forgot the NBA is a gentleman's game." This adds another interesting chapter to West's colorful NBA career, but it shouldn't have any impact on his play.

Tue Apr 17 201204:28West could be disciplined for Wet Willie
Delonte West gave Gordon Hayward a 'Dry Willie' during Monday's game, and also scored 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound, zero assists, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes.
West drew a technical foul for sticking his finger in Hayward's ear, and while some think he could get disciplined by the league it sounds like a bit of a stretch. As long as he stays on the court, the bigger news was the triple-overtime madness and the havoc it might play on the veterans, as Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Terry, and Vince Carter each played between 44-54 minutes. We've marked each of them sidelined for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, though Friday's game makes a lot more sense for everybody to rest. Guys like West and Roddy Beaubois (if healthy) could make some noise.

Sun Apr 15 201218:35Delonte West gets going early Sunday
Delonte West posted 20 points, two rebounds and two assists in Sunday's overtime loss to the Lakers.
West was piping hot to start the game and ended up logging 38 minutes. But with Roddy Beaubois (calf) due back Monday and Vince Carter healthy off the bench, we can't expect a third straight 20-plus point outing. On the season, West averages just 23.4 minutes per game.

Sat Apr 14 201203:35Delonte West posts 21-6-7 line in win
Delonte West started for resting Jason Kidd and scored 21 points on 10-of-17 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in the Mavs' win over the Blazers on Friday.
West was seen flexing his right wrist after a tumble, but we haven't heard anything about it so far in the postgame. West gets a boost from Roddy Beaubois' calf injury, too, but we don't know how serious that injury is, either. At this point the best we can call West is a speculative add until his teammates' status gets updated.

Tue Apr 10 201223:39Delonte West starts again
Delonte West started his fifth straight game on Tuesday, scoring 13 points as the Mavericks beat the Kings.
The fact that West has continued starting even with the return of Jason Kidd is a good sign. Vince Carter came off the bench tonight and between the two, West may have the slight edge going forward.

Sat Apr 7 201202:53West survives ankle issues on Fri, sort of
Delonte West dealt with ankle issues all night long in the Mavs' 99-97 overtime loss to the Blazers on Friday, and finished with 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting, two rebounds, five assists, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.
West left the game early before halftime and then made it out to start the second half, and was hobbling throughout the game. We're marking him as sidelined in advance of Saturday's game against the Grizzlies, but we have no information to suggest that he won't play yet. Roddy Beaubois would start if he cannot go, since Jason Kidd (groin) has already been ruled out.

Fri Apr 6 201220:24West (ankle) in layup line; should start Fri
Delonte West (ankle) is in the layup line in advance of Friday's game against the Blazers and should start at PG for the Mavs.
Owners can go ahead and use West the way they normally would, but with just a hint of recognition that he'll be at less than 100 percent. If the injury was truly serious, the Mavs probably wouldn't rush him back with Jason Kidd (groin) also ailing. Roddy Beaubois is still an intriguing spot-play with some upside if everybody stays hurt.

Fri Apr 6 201219:48Delonte West (ankle) to try to play on Friday
Delonte West (ankle) said that he would try to play on Friday against the Blazers.
West is currently testing the ankle right now so this situation doesn't sound like it's set in stone. Stay tuned, and if West cannot go then Roddy Buckets will get the start.

Fri Apr 6 201218:46Delonte West (ankle) may miss Friday game
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Delonte West stepped on a basketball during Friday's shootaround and twisted his ankle, leaving his status for Friday's game against Portland uncertain.
With Jason Kidd (groin) also out, the Mavs would probably start Rodrigue Beaubois at the point and although Buckets has been spectacular at times, he has also disappeared at times as well. Jason Terry and Dominique Jones will also probably get minutes at the 1 as well.

Thu Apr 5 201201:15Delonte West scores 14 in start at PG
Delonte West mad another start at point guard for Jason Kidd, who is set to miss a few more games, and had 14 points, two assists and two 3-pointers on 6-of-7 shooting in Wednesday's win.
West had six points and four assists in his previous game, and we'd much rather own J.J. Barea at this point. Roddy Beaubois added eight points, two rebounds, five assists, a steal and block off the bench, as the two will share time at the point for as long as Kidd is out.

Tue Apr 3 201201:48Delonte West unimpressive in first start
Delonte West started for injured Jason Kidd (groin) in the Mavs' 94-75 loss to the Clippers on Monday, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting with one block and four assists in 36 minutes.
The Mavs scored just 75 points as a team, so we're pretty much writing the whole outcome off when evaluating each player. West is still the favorite to start the next three games with Kidd out, but anything is possible and we're betting that both West and guys like Roddy Beaubois all play better on Wednesday against the Grizzlies.

Sat Mar 31 201203:10West posts productive line in win over Magic
Delonte West wasted no time getting onto the right side of the ledger against the Magic on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 24 minutes.
Roddy Beaubois was a DNP-CD and Vince Carter (12 points, two threes) can't seem to stay on the floor for longer than 15-25 minutes a game. Add in Jason Kidd's old age and there is some space for fantasy value here, but it's too early to send owners running to the wire in most formats. Just watch to see if he can do it again.

Thu Mar 29 201223:10West (finger) returns to action vs. Heat
Delonte West (finger) returned to action on Thursday against the Heat, scoring seven points on 3-of-3 shooting with one assist and a 3-pointer in eight minutes.
West did a good job to take advantage of the minutes he had, but we need to see much more from him before contemplating his fantasy value. In all reality, he'll do more to limit the value of his fellow teammates than to cultivate any value of his own.
