Sun Aug 12 201212:51Scott Elbert nearing rehab assignment
Scott Elbert (elbow) will be cleared to begin a rehab assignment if he can get through his next bullpen session without any issues.
He shouldn't need too many rehab appearances before being activating, setting him up for a rehab later this month. Elbert has put up a 2.45 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 39 games for the Dodgers this season.

Fri Jul 27 201215:18Scott Elbert placed on DL
Dodgers placed LHP Scott Elbert on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 26, with left shoulder soreness.
It's something he's dealt with for a few weeks despite being unscored upon over his last nine appearances. The Dodgers can afford to give him a break now, though, with the addition of Randy Choate.

Thu Jul 26 201219:28Elbert (elbow) could be placed on DL
Scott Elbert could be placed on the disabled list with shoulder soreness.
Elbert has been dealing with discomfort for several weeks and his condition was one of the reasons the Dodgers had left-hander Randy Choate included in the Hanley Ramirez trade. Putting Elbert on the DL would allow the Dodgers to call up Stephen Fife to start Friday's series opener against the Giants.

Sun Jun 12 201119:38Elbert picks up cheap save
Scott Elbert got one out against the Rockies Sunday to earn his first career save.
With two outs in the ninth and the Dodgers nursing a 10-8 lead, Elbert was called upon to face lefty Seth Smith. It was strictly a situational save and Elbert should not be picked up in fantasy formats. Note that Blake Hawksworth started the inning, but gave up a home run and two hits in his 2/3 of an inning. Javy Guerra may not have been available after pitching both Friday and Saturday -- we still like Guerra as the guy to get most of the save chances until Vicente Padilla or Jonathan Broxton get off the DL.

Wed Sep 15 201009:12Dodgers hopeful Elbert will pitch in AFL
The Dodgers are hopeful that prospect left-hander Scott Elbert will participate in the Arizona Fall League.
As of yet, nothing has been confirmed. Elbert walked away from the club's Triple-A Albuquerque affiliate in early June to deal with personal issues and was placed on the restricted list. He hasn't played since.

Fri Jun 11 201023:20Scott Elbert leaves Triple-A team
Upset over his recent demotion to Triple-A Albuquerque, left-hander Scott Elbert has left the team.
Elbert has been placed on the team's inactive list. The 24-year-old left-hander was called up from Triple-A on May 28, but made only one appearance with the team on May 29 before being sent down. The 2004 first-round pick isn't making any friends in the organization right now.

Sun May 30 201020:33Dodgers option Elbert back to Triple-A
Dodgers optioned LHP Scott Elbert to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Elbert was called up to serve as a temporary lefty specialist against the Rockies, but walked three batters in his lone appearance Saturday night. He could be back later this year if there's an injury in the bullpen.
Fri May 28 201018:06Dodgers call up Scott Elbert
Dodgers recalled LHP Scott Elbert from Triple-A Albuquerque.
A corresponding roster move will be announced. Elbert, 24, was 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA over eight starts with the Isotopes this season, posting a less-than-stellar 40/29 K/BB ratio in 38 1/3 innings. He posted a 5.03 ERA in 19 relief appearances with the Dodgers last season.
Sat Apr 10 201014:27Dodgers prospect Elbert fans 10 in AAA
Scott Elbert struck out 10 in six scoreless innings Friday for Triple-A Albuquerque.
Elbert failed to pitch himself into the mix for a spot in the Dodger rotation this spring, but he has more upside than the rest of the team's possible fifth starters. It'll come down to whether he can improve his command this year. He allowed just two hits last night, but he walked five.
