Fri Jul 26 201315:04Phillies say they won't trade Michael Young
Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees have been told by the Phillies that Michael Young is "not yet available and might never be."
Even though they've lost five straight and are eight games out of first place, it appears that Philly might still be buyers at the trade deadline. In addition to the Yankees, the Red Sox and Rangers have also expressed interest in Young.

Fri Jul 26 201310:07Rangers have discussed Michael Young reunion
CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Rangers have "talked at least internally about the possibility" of bringing back Michael Young.
Heyman notes that the possibility of a trade "can't be characterized as probable." The Rangers' main area of focus is acquiring a right-handed hitting outfielder, but with Lance Berkman out indefinitely, Young could be used in the DH spot. He would also be an option at first base against left-handed pitching.

Tue Jul 16 201308:58Report: Michael Young drawing strong interest
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Red Sox and Yankees are among about a dozen teams who have checked in with the Phillies about the availability of Michael Young.
The Red Sox would play Young at third base while the Yankees could shuffle him between the hot corner and first base. Interestingly, Rosenthal notes that the Red Sox sent VP of player personnel Allard Baird to watch the Phillies in back-to-back series just prior to the All-Star break. Still, it's unclear if the Phillies will sell, as they sit at 48-48 on the year and are reportedly in the market for outfield and bullpen help. Young, who will be a free agent after the season, as a full no-trade clause.

Sun Jul 14 201300:51Michael Young delivers walkoff winner in 13th
Michael Young delivered a walkoff RBI single in the 13th inning on Saturday, leading the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the White Sox in the nightcap of their doubleheader.
Young finished the game 2-for-6. His game-winning knock came with two outs in the inning, and scored Jimmy Rollins from second base after he had advanced on a sacrifice bunt. It was a much needed victory for the Phillies, after they dropped the first game of the doubleheader in extra innings earlier in the day. With the two-hit effort, Young now owns a .292/.348/.419 line on the season.

Sat Jun 29 201317:57BoSox have not engaged in talks for M. Young
According to Rob Bradford of WEEI.com, the Red Sox "have not engaged in a single conversation" with the Phillies regarding a trade of infielder Michael Young.
George A. King III of the New York Post reported on Saturday afternoon that both the Red Sox and Yankees are plotting a possible Young deal. And now come the denials. Young, 36, is batting .289/.348/.412 with five homers and 21 RBI in 74 games this season for Philadelphia. Boston and New York could use immediate infield help, but there's only smoke and no fire at the moment.

The Phillies haven't decided whether they should be sellers at the non-waiver trade deadline, but have indicated that Young could be available. Sat Jun 29 201301:34Michael Young goes 4-for-6, homers
Michael Young went 4-for-6 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Dodgers.
Young has been great since getting a look in the leadoff spot, going 14-for-30 with six runs scored in seven games. He's stopped drawing walks of late -- he has just one in 99 at-bats this month -- but he's hitting for average and showing a little more power, making him a better fantasy third baseman.

Fri Jun 7 201316:44Michael Young batting leadoff again Friday
Michael Young will bat leadoff for the second straight game Friday against the Brewers.
Young batted leadoff Thursday for the first time since 2004 and went 3-for-5 with a run scored, so Phillies manager Charlie Manuel isn't going to mess with what works. John Mayberry, Jr. is also hitting second and playing center field again. Meanwhile, Ben Revere remains on the bench.

Thu Jun 6 201323:38Michael Young hits leadoff, has three hits
Hitting out of the leadoff spot for the first time since 2004, Michael Young went 3-for-5 and scored a run on Thursday, helping to lead the Phillies to a 5-1 victory over the struggling Brewers.
While he isn't hitting for much power, Young knows how to work the count and has been getting on base at an acceptable clip, so it's not outlandish to think he could remain in the role. While his fantasy value has been minimal this season, the boost in runs scored that he would see hitting atop the lineup should help his cause.

Michael Young will bat leadoff Thursday against the Brewers.
This will be his first start out of the leadoff spot since way back in 2004. Young isn't driving the ball much these days, but he has already drawn 24 walks in 53 games. It's not a bad way to use him.

Tue May 28 201321:52Michael Young homers, snapping an 0-for-22
Michael Young hit a solo home run in the Phillies' defeat of the Red Sox on Tuesday at Fenway Park.
Young's first-inning shot off Ryan Dempster snapped an 0-for-22 slump. The veteran infielder is still batting just .258/.347/.354 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 51 games this season and is hardly fantasy-relevant.

Mon May 27 201323:09Michael Young goes 0-for-5 in loss
Michael Young turned in his fifth straight hitless game Monday, going 0-for-5 against the Red Sox.
Young has followed up a .341 month of April by hitting .171 with no homers and four RBI in 82 at-bats this month. He's still drawing walks and he'll probably resume hitting singles soon, but he's not much of a fantasy third baseman these days.

Fri May 24 201321:57Michael Young hitless in four at-bats Friday
Michael Young was hitless in four at-bats in Friday and has just one RBI over his last 14 games.
Young has a decent .280 batting average to go along with a .378 on-base percentage, but he has done little else to help in fantasy leagues. Through 47 games, he has just one home run to go along with 10 RBI. With his penchant for ground balls (he had three ground outs on Friday), we're not banking on a power resurgence.
