Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Friday that Alberto Callaspo will see a drop in playing time following the acquisition of Kyle Blanks.
Callaspo has received most of his starts in the DH spot and at first base, but that's where Blanks is going to play. Callaspo has been a borderline middle infield option in mixed leagues so far this year, but he's probably only an AL-only guy at this point.

Alberto Callaspo hit his seventh home run of the season against the Twins on Tuesday.
Callaspo's two-run shot off Twins starter Liam Hendriks in the fifth inning gave the A's a 2-1 lead, a lead they would eventually lose. The home run was the third baseman's second since coming to the A's at the trade deadline. Callaspo has hit .269 in 104 at-bats since the trade.
