Sat Sep 4 202112:31Kyle Finnegan Available Saturday
Washington Nationals reliever Kyle Finnegan will be available to pitch in Saturday's game against the New York Mets, according to Jessica Camerato of MLB.com. Finnegan was placed on the paternity list on August 31 and was activated before Friday's game but didn't make an appearance. He's been one of the better Nationals relievers this season, with a 2.77 ERA in 52 innings, even with a 22.4 K% and 11.4 BB%. He's added 12 holds and six saves and should see the majority of save chances for the rest of the year.

Wed Sep 1 202100:59Kyle Finnegan On Paternity List
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, and will be away from the team for several games. Relief pitcher Wander Suero was recalled in a corresponding move. Should Washington find itself with a lead in the late innings, manager Davey Martinez figures to use a committee approach in save situations, as no one reliever other than Finnegan has separated himself from the group. Fantasy managers in daily formats should leave Finnegan on benches, but there's no pertinent add to make on the Washington roster.

Sat Aug 28 202100:16Kyle Finnegan Notches Sixth Save
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan recorded his sixth save of the year Friday night, setting down three of the four New York Mets he faced in a 2-1 victory. His only baserunner reached via walk, and he did not strike out a batter. Finnegan has now gone seven consecutive outings without allowing an earned run, and he has a 2.77 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 51 strikeouts in 52 innings across 55 appearances this season. All six of his saves have come in his last 13 games, and he figures to be a decent pickup for desperate fantasy managers.

Sat Aug 21 202101:10Kyle Finnegan Locks Down Save Friday
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan continues to solidify himself as a solid option for saves, locking down another one against the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night. He walked one batter and struck out another in an inning of work. Finnegan now has converted five of his seven save opportunities on the year, but has been most effective since being officially promoted to the job following the trade deadline. With a 0.59 ERA and a 0.95 WHIP over his last 15 games, the only question for fantasy managers is how many opportunities there will be on a gutted team.

Thu Aug 19 202110:48Kyle Finnegan Records Four-Out Save
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan is unquestionably the closer in D.C, as he once again entered in a save situation Wednesday night against the Toronto Blue Jays. He got four outs, allowing just one hit en route to his fourth save of the season. He struck out one batter. All Finnegan's saves have come in his last 15 games, a span in which he has put up a 1.80 ERA, but the only thing holding him back the rest of the season is the fact that the Nationals just won't have many save situations to offer. Still, fantasy managers desperate in the category should look Finnegan's way.

Thu Aug 12 202119:52Kyle Finnegan Takes A Loss Thursday
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan took the loss in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the New York Mets, yielding a walk-off home run to slugger Pete Alonso. Finnegan, the newly-minted closer for the Nationals, retired one batter before facing Alonso. Finnegan has largely been effective this year with a 3.18 ERA, but he does not strike out many batters, with just 47 men set down on strikes in 45 1/3 innings. He's a low-end fantasy closer going forward.

Sun Aug 8 202101:02Kyle Finnegan Saves Third Game Saturday
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan completed his third save Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, setting down all three men he faced. He did not record a strikeout. Finnegan has inherited the closer role with Brad Hand having been dealt to Toronto, and he's been quite successful with the job around one blown save that really should have been attributed to the Washington defense. With a 3.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts in 45 innings this year, Finnegan is no top-10 option, but he's very valuable for fantasy managers in need of every last save.

Fri Aug 6 202101:05Kyle Finnegan Gives Up Four Unearned Runs In Blown Save
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan was saddled with a blown save and a loss Thursday after four unearned runs came around to score against him in the top of the ninth inning against the Philadelphia Phillies. Finnegan gave up three hits and a walk while striking out one batter. It's Finnegan's second blown save of the season, but it's hard to blame him for this one. Finnegan remains locked in as the closing option for the gutted Nationals, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect many opportunities for him (or anyone else) as Washington is expected to lose most of its games going forward.

Sat Jul 31 202100:17Kyle Finnegan Earns Second Save Friday
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan appears to be the choice as the closer for the closer role with Brad Hand in Toronto, as he locked down his second save of the year Friday. Just one day after earning his first career save, Finnegan allowed just one hit while striking out none against the Chicago Cubs. There may not be many chances for him going forward, but being the clear-cut closer still makes him a worthy add in most fantasy formats.

Fri Jul 30 202101:00Kyle Finnegan Saves First Career Game
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan pitched a clean inning in game one of the team's doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, earning his first career save in the process. He struck out two batters. Finnegan has been excellent lately with six consecutive scoreless outings, and with Brad Hand and Daniel Hudson on the move, he could figure into the saves situation going forward. The Nationals may not win many more games, but Finnegan is worth a look for desperate fantasy managers.

Wed Jul 28 202100:41Kyle Finnegan Posts Fifth Consecutive Scoreless Outing
Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan threw a scoreless frame against the Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday night on his third consecutive day of action. He now has five scoreless outings in a row, and has only allowed a run once in his last 11 appearances. He also collected his 11th hold in Tuseday's 6-4 victory. With Brad Hand likely to be dealt in the coming days, Finnegan would be a major contender for save opportunities should he remain with the team. Fantasy managers may want to preemptively look to add Finnegan, or at least keep an eye on him heading into Friday's trade deadline.
