LHP Chris Rusin, despite allowing just two runs on six hits in six innings Wednesday night at St. Louis, once again came away without a win on the road. Rusin has not won in his last 18 starts on the road, going 0-10. His last road win came on Aug. 9, 2013, at St. Louis, when he was a member of the Cubs.

LHP Chris Rusin takes the ball for game two of Colorado's three-game set in St. Louis Wednesday night. Rusin is coming off a 5-1 loss on May 11 against Arizona, which touched him for 10 hits and four runs over 5 2/3 innings. In his career against the Cardinals, Rusin is 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA in three appearances, two starts. He also cracked his first career homer against St. Louis last July.

LHP Chris Rusin gave up four runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and four strikeouts against ARIzona. He has yielded 23 hits in 10 innings in his past two starts. Rusin worked five scoreless innings before giving up four runs in the sixth, snapping his scoreless streak at home of 10 2/3 innings.

LHP Chris Rusin didn't take a loss Thursday night, but he sure felt like it afterward. Rusin couldn't complete the five innings required to receive credit for a win despite taking a 17-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth. He left one out into the fifth, having allowed the Giants to get back within 17-7. All told, he allowed seven runs on 13 hits in 4 1/3 innings after having permitted just three runs on seven hits in 16 previous innings this season.

RHP Chris Rusin, making his first start Saturday after four relief appearances, held the Diamondbacks to 1 hit over five scoreless innings.Rusin struck out six, walked three and threw 44 of 76 pitches for strikes. "I was effectively wild," Rusin said. "I knew I was on a pitch count so I wanted to try and be as efficient as possible."

LHP Chris Rusin, who has been pitching in long relief, will start Friday at Arizona, taking the rotation spot of Jordan Lyles. Rusin is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA in four games and has pitched 9 2/3 scoreless innings in his past three outings. He threw 41 pitches in 3 1/3 innings Sunday and a season-high 44 pitches in four innings April 19. Rusin estimated he would be able throw 65-70 pitches Friday in his start. "He hasn't been built up all that much," manager Walt Weiss said. "He got behind the 8-ball in spring training (with an inflamed left middle finger). We couldn't build him up as a starter, so it was a better fit for him in our 'pen breaking camp. He's been up to mid-40s the last couple times out. Pitch count will be an issue with him the first time or two out there. But we're in that spot now where it's close enough where we can use him as a starter and build him up as we go."

LHP Chris Rusin took over for shaky starter Jordan Lyles and pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit with two walks and three strikeouts. It was the second straight superb long-relief effort for Rusin, who gave up two hits in four scoreless innings at Cincinnati on April 19. In four relief appearances this season, Rusin is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA, having allowed six hits and three runs in 11 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

LHP Chris Rusin could make his first start of the season Monday if LHP Jorge De La Rosa is unable to pitch. He has been dealing with the stomach flu but was better Sunday.

Rusin took the loss Saturday despite a quality start, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings while striking out four.
All three runs came on solo homers, not a good showing for a Rockies pitcher on the road, but otherwise Rusin wasn't bad. He'll finish the season with a 5.33 ERA, and his home/road splits are almost identical so that figure doesn't look like a Coors Field mirage. He'll likely still be in the mix for a rotation spot next season, though.

Rusin (6-9) picked up the victory Sunday, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out three batters in a 12-5 victory over the Dodgers.
Rusin didn't need to be stellar as his team cobbled together six runs through the first four innings, however he's now allowed at least three runs in his last seven appearances dating back to Aug. 22. The 28-year-old has had a rough season this year, posting a 5.37 ERA and 1.62 WHIP through 125.2 innings, one that may mercifully end Saturday when he makes his final start against the Giants.

Rusin took his ninth loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh as he allowed six runs on eight hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out two.
Rusin has actually been worse on the road than at Coors Field this year, even though his home ERA is now up to 5.31 in 11 games (10 starts). Still, he's serving up a 5.46 ERA in 11 road games (again, 10 starts) and hitters are batting .320/.373/.536 off him in 272 plate appearances. In this case, it isn't Coors, it's Rusin. His ERA is up to 5.39.

Rusin allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in a no decision Tuesday against the Dodgers. He struck out three.
Rusin has now allowed at least three runs in each of his last five starts and has seen his ERA jump from 3.99 to 5.11 in that span. The rest of the Rockies' remaining games are either at home or at Arizona, both tough parks. Rusin's road ERA (5.46) is actually worse than his Coors Field ERA (4.74), but neither is particularly desirable.

Rusin (5-8) was hit hard over three innings Wednesday, giving up six earned runs on eight hits while walking and striking out a batter apiece in an 11-4 loss to the Padres.
The bewildered Rusin gave up a solo home run in the first inning, walked the opposing pitcher to force in a run the following frame, then allowed a three-run homer and RBI double in his third and final inning. Aside from pitching a complete game shutout at Coors Field in August, little has gone right for Rusin this season. While his rotation spot is likely secure for the time being, Rusin is far too erratic to be considered in most formats.

Rusin tossed his second complete game of the season in Thursday's 11-3 win over the Giants. He gave up three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five batters.
After giving up a two-run homer in the third inning to his counterpart, Ryan Vogelsong, Rusin buckled down, allowing only five runners to reach base the rest of the way. Rusin has at times exhibited brilliance at Coors Field, but the last time he threw a shutout on Aug. 16, he was bombed for 11 runs in two innings in his very next start. He'll need to exhibit some more consistency before becoming a trusted fantasy option.

Rusin took the loss Saturday despite a quality start, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over six innings while striking out three.
It's his third QS in his last four outings, although the fourth start was an 11-earned run disaster against the Mets. If you have to risk using someone that volatile in your lineup, Rusin will next take the hill Thursday, at home against the Giants.

Rusin was torched for 11 runs on 12 hits and two walks in only two innings Saturday against the Mets. He struck out three as he fell to 4-6 on the season.
The left-hander simply fell victim to a red-hot Mets lineup, which has cranked out 28 runs in two games at Coors Field this series. Rusin, who threw a complete-game shutout in his previous start, will look to put this one behind him as he faces the Pirates on the road next weekend.

Rusin (4-5) was masterful on Sunday en route to his first career complete game shutout. He gave up just five hits and a walk in a 5-0 victory over the Padres.
It was Rusin's first win since June 21 and the first time he made it through seven innings since June 6. After a down month of July (4.50 ERA and 1.53 WHIP in 30 innings) he's bounced back in August, giving up four runs in 20 innings. Rusin has now worked his ERA under 4.00 (3.99 ERA after Sunday), a trend he will hope to continue when he faces the Mets next.

Rusin (3-5) took the loss Tuesday against the Mets, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings.
He gave up hits in each of the first four innings, but escaped trouble until allowing his only run with two outs in the sixth. Unfortunately, Matt Harvey was dealing for the Mets and the lefty had no chance to earn a win. After posting a 7.80 ERA over his last three starts, maybe this solid start will get him back on track. He'll make his next start Sunday against the Padres.
