Astros placed Geoff Blum on 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury.
Blum will have arthroscopic surgery on the elbow this week, and a timetable for his return is not yet know. Jason Bourgeois has been recalled to take his spot on the roster. With Blum and Tommy Manzella both out for a while, Angel Sanchez looks to be in line for a lot of playing time.
Sat Jul 3 201008:22Blum injured elbow while getting dressed
It has been revealed that Geoff Blum's right elbow injury occurred while he was getting dressed.
Apparently Blum was pulling on a shirt and felt a "pop" in his elbow. "He was putting on his shirt after the game, and his elbow goes, 'Boom, pop,' and it blows up on him," manager Brad Mills said. If Blum has to go on the DL, Jason Bourgeois, who was just sent to Triple-A on Friday, would replace him on the roster.
