Ramon Hernandez (knee) will be activated from the disabled list Thursday.

Sat Jul 17 201010:23Hernandez to return from DL when eligible
Ramon Hernandez (knee) expects to return from the DL on Tuesday, when he's first eligible for activation.
The catcher injured the knee while legging out a triple during a July 4th contest. It's the same knee that Hernandez had surgically repaired last year, so while it sounds like he'll be fine, you can bet the Reds will keep a close eye on him.

Fri Jul 9 201017:04Reds place C Hernandez on DL
Reds placed catcher Ramon Hernandez on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 5, with a sore knee.

The Reds are likely to place Ramon Hernandez (knee) on the DL and activate Ryan Hanigan prior to Friday's game.

Mon Jul 5 201017:46Reds' Hernandez out with sore knee
Ramon Hernandez is out of Monday's lineup against the Mets because of a sore knee.
Hernandez hurt the knee legging out a triple during Sunday's game. "He's better. He's got a little swelling in there today that he didn't have yesterday," said Reds manager Dusty Baker. "It's a little sore. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow. Hopefully, he'll get treatment all day in case I have to pinch-run or pinch-hit for Corky late in the game." Hernandez can safely be considered day-to-day.

Tue Jun 22 201001:38Reds' Hernandez homers in victory
Ramon Hernandez hit the first of three 10th-inning homer as the Reds beat the A's 6-4 on Monday.
It was 1-1 until the ninth, when both Andrew Bailey and Francisco Cordero allowed single runs. The Reds then seemed to build an insurmountable lead on the strength of their homers in the 10th. Hernandez's led off the inning against Michael Wuertz. After Cedrick Bowers took over with one and one out, Joey Votto hit a two-run homer and Scott Rolen followed with a solo shot of his own. It looked as if Laynce Nix would make it three in a row, but his long drive to center came up a couple of feet short. Hernandez's homer was his third of the year. His first two came on June 28, but he had been in an 11-for-49 slump since that date.
Fri Jun 4 201022:59Hernandez getting lots of starts
Ramon Hernandez went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's loss to the Nationals.
With Ryan Hanigan (hand) out until at least late June, Hernandez is getting all the work his 34-year-old knees can handle behind the plate. For deep NL-only owners, Hernandez is on the radar. He still has a little pop left and is hitting .307 with 14 RBI in 114 at-bats so far this year.
Thu Apr 8 201010:08Hernandez out of Reds' lineup
Ramon Hernandez is out of the lineup against the Cardinals on Thursday afternoon.
Typical for a day game after a night game. Ryan Hanigan will start behind the plate instead, batting eighth against Brad Penny.
