Sun Oct 15 202300:33Cameron Johnson Might Miss Remainder Of The Preseason
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (hamstring) could miss the remainder of the preseason. He continues to battle a hamstring issue, with head coach Jacque Vaughn indicating he plans to be "extremely cautious" with the former Sun. Johnson appeared in 25 games for Brooklyn last season after being acquired from Phoenix as part of the Kevin Durant deal. He averaged a career-high 16.6 points and was given a four-year, $108 million extension over the Summer. Fortunately, he's moving in the right direction, meaning there's a great chance he'll be ready for the start of the 2023-24 campaign. But if Johnson isn't healthy enough to play, Dorian Finney-Smith or Ben Simmons may take his place in the starting lineup.

Tue Oct 3 202308:13Cameron Johnson Misses Start Of Training Camp
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson will miss the start of training camp due to a hamstring injury. The team announced Johnson suffered a mild left hamstring strain during an on-court workout last week. The injury is a bit of a blow for the 27-year-old, who has started preparing for his first full season in Brooklyn, but it sounds like it's not a very serious issue, and Johnson should be available for the team soon. Johnson's numbers received a big boost with his mid-season move from Phoenix last term, and it will be exciting to see what he can do in a Nets uniform across a full season.

Sat Aug 19 202310:15Cameron Johnson Enjoys Productive Bench Outing Versus Greece
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson had a great all-around outing in 20 minutes off the bench for Team USA versus Greece Friday, posting 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting and adding two rebounds with four assists and three steals. Johnson did most of his damage offensively from deep, going 3-for-7 with the three-ball. The Nets forward has brought energy and scoring off the bench throughout the team's pre-World Cup schedule, averaging 11.3 points per game. Johnson looks set to be a great asset for Team USA at the World Cup, and it will be intriguing to see what he can do during his first full season in Brooklyn.

Fri Jun 30 202319:41Cameron Johnson Gets Long-Term Deal With Nets
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson has agreed to return to the team on a sizable four-year, $108 million deal. Alongside Mikal Bridges, the 27-year-old Johnson signified the co-centerpiece of the Kevin Durant trade this past deadline. Johnson continues to improve on offense and defense, amassing 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.3 threes, and 1.4 steals over a career-high 30.8 minutes per game with the Nets last season. The two-way wing should be one of Brooklyn's focal contributors on both ends of the floor once again in the 2023-2024 season. Johnson could garner mid-round fantasy treatment in upcoming drafts.

Mon Jun 26 202318:21Nets Prepared To Match Offer Sheet On Cameron Johnson
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson is expected to have a fairly significant free agent market this summer. The 27-year-old is coming off a season where he averaged a career-high 16.6 points with 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 25 games with the Nets. The potential is there for Johnson to be a legitimate force in the league. That being said, Brooklyn wants to make sure they keep Johnson around. The organization is prepared to match offer sheets on Johnson this offseason. It could get as high as $100 million, but the Nets sound like they're ready for it.

Sat Jun 24 202323:32Pistons To Make A Push For Cameron Johnson?
According to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the Pistons may make a strong push to sign forward Cameron Johnson. The 27-year-old is coming off an eventful season. He underwent knee surgery in November and missed a few months. He was also traded to Brooklyn ahead of the deadline (along with Mikal Bridges) in the deal that sent Kevin Durant to the Suns. In 25 regular season games with the Nets, Johnson averaged a career-high 16.6 points, although he shot 37.2% from deep, a drop from his time in Phoenix. Nonetheless, the Nets will have the right to match any offers, considering the former Tar Heel will be a restricted free agent. But Detroit may have the cash needed to get a deal done.

Fri Jun 9 202313:55Jerami Grant, Cameron Johnson On The Pistons' Offseason Radar
According to James Edwards of The Athletic, the Detroit Pistons went into the offseason with thoughts of targeting forward Jerami Grant in free agency. On top of that, Edwards says that the Pistons would likely throw an offer sheet toward power forward Cameron Johnson. Grant has ties to Detroit, as he played there just a season ago. While he denied an extension at the time, it seems as though he's still close to general manager Troy Weaver and loves the city. With the hiring of head coach Monty Williams, it could lure Grant back to Detroit. As far as Johnson, he's a restricted free agent, but the Pistons really want to bring in a three-and-D type of player.

Mon Apr 17 202322:07Cameron Johnson Leads Nets In Scoring In Game 2
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson finished with a team-high 28 points in the postseason loss to Philadelphia. The former Sun was one of the only bright spots for the Nets offense, going 11-for-19 from the field and 5-for-11 from deep. He also had two steals and a block. However, Johnson and his teammates struggled after an efficient start, combining for just 35 points in the second half. Philadelphia spent time slowing down Mikal Bridges, so Johnson benefited. With that said, the 27-year-old had an irresistible DFS rostering cost heading into Game 2. But that will likely change for Game 3 on Thursday after Johnson's solid showing on Monday evening.

Wed Mar 8 202319:02Cameron Johnson Will Sit Out Against Bucks
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (knee) is listed as out ahead of Thursday's game versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Johnson is dealing with some knee soreness and the Nets are electing to rest him ahead of the back-to-back set of games. With Johnson out, Joe Harris and Seth Curry should see increased minutes. Patty Mills and Cam Thomas may also reenter the rotation.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Sun Feb 26 202322:07Cameron Johnson Notches 27 Points In Losing Effort
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson posted his highest-scoring game since coming to Brooklyn despite taking the loss by two points on Sunday. The former Phoenix Sun dropped 27 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block while shooting 10-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-8 from three. Johnson has been a bit up-and-down since joining the Nets, but he's still a good source of points and threes while keeping turnovers to a minimum in category fantasy leagues.

Sat Feb 11 202316:05Cameron Johnson Available On Saturday
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson is available for Saturday's Atlantic Division matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers. The 26-year-old averaged a career-high 13.9 points in 17 games with the Suns this season before being traded for Kevin Durant ahead of the deadline. It's hard to say how much work Johnson will get and how quickly he'll adjust to things under head coach Jacque Vaughn, so DFS participants should think twice before putting him into a lineup. However, Johnson remains a must-start fantasy option, and his presence will decrease the ceiling of Dorian Finney-Smith, who had nine points and nine rebounds on Thursday in the win over the Chicago Bulls.

Fri Feb 10 202321:26Cameron Johnson Questionable For Debut
Brooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson is questionable ahead of Saturday's meeting with Philadelphia. Although the former Sun is in Brooklyn, the trade is listed as pending on the league's official injury report. Johnson averaged a career-high 13.9 points in 17 games with Phoenix this season. However, he missed a few months after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus suffered in November. Nevertheless, while the 26-year-old may not be 100%, he is a must-start fantasy option in all formats once he's available. But until he plays a few games in a Nets uniform, DFS managers may want to avoid him.

Fri Feb 10 202313:152023 NBA Trade Deadline Breakdown - Fantasy Basketball Impacts
The NBA trade deadline has officially come and gone and we had one of the most active deadlines in recent memory with some big stars being dealt. Kyrie, KD, and Westbrook are all heading to new teams and we have been covering those trades and their fantasy impacts here at RotoBaller. But there were plenty of other lesser-known players who were dealt in the last few days and I wanted to go through and make sure we don't overlook some of these trades as some of those deals may even have more fantasy impact than the big moves. So here are some other trades that went down and my two cents on the increase or decrease in value that we should expect from the players involved for the remainder of the 2022-2023 fantasy basketball season.

Moves That Matter

These are very much in order of how much they matter. Let's start with the Spurs sending their starting center back up North where he started his career.Jakob Poeltl to the RaptorsI am a huge Poeltl fan and was close to acquiring him on multiple teams before the deadline. It was a curious move by Toronto to be buyers instead of sellers at the deadline, but Poeltl gives them the presence at the five they have been lacking all season and allows Siakam to shift over and play PF where he belongs.Poeltl is no longer a shutdown candidate and has legit top-50 upside with his multi-category abilities. His departure also makes ... [More]
Thu Feb 9 202323:29Kevin Durant Traded to Suns - Fantasy Basketball Impact
As hectic as this year's NBA trade deadline has been, with 28 out of the 30 teams making at least one trade, early Thursday morning at 1:00 am, a blockbuster trade went down that not many expected. However, if you had read my previous article, you could have gotten a glimpse of the future thanks to my magic ball, as the first "potential trade" I wrote about was sending Kevin Durant to none other than the Pheonix Suns.Kevin Durant is undeniably a top-three player and arguably even the best in the NBA right now. It's not surprising to hear how stunned the NBA world was after seeing this trade, as the Suns sold a huge chunk of their future for the Nets superstar but were somehow saved from involving Deandre Ayton in the trade!Any average NBA fan knows how much of an impact future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant has on any team, but to emphasize just how much, check this out: The Suns went from odds of +1800 of winning the finals to +450 on Thursday morning after the huge trade, now only behind the Boston Celtics, who lead the race with their odds being +350.

Kevin Durant's Season Recap

Durant (knee) has been sidelined for over a month after getting hurt on January 8 against the Miami Heat and remains without a timetable to return to make his debut with the Suns. Before getting hurt, the 13-time All-Star was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 blocks, and 36 minutes in 39 appearances this season.
Thu Feb 9 202308:35Cameron Johnson Traded To Brooklyn
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Cameron Johnson is part of a package that was sent to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant. He, along with Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder, is switching coasts and will be part of a new younger version of the Nets that could still scrap their way into the playoffs without an actual superstar on the roster anymore. Johnson will be one of the best shooters on the team, so he'll likely get anywhere between 20-25 minutes per game, but his immediate value is hard to predict until there's a clearer picture of the Nets final roster.

Tue Feb 7 202307:15Kyrie Irving Traded To Dallas - Fantasy Basketball Impact
Without a doubt, Kyrie Irving is arguably one of the most naturally gifted players in the National Basketball Association. He's a fantastic ball-handler and can get to the rim with ease. However, the former Duke Blue Devil's career has been surrounded by controversy, ultimately impacting his ability to win an MVP.The NBA trade deadline kicked off with a bang when Irving, who had demanded a trade out of Brooklyn, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. NBA fans and fantasy managers are left wondering how things will play out.To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NBA, make sure to favorite or bookmark the RotoBaller Fantasy Basketball Newspage, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy basketball mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. However, things were apparently going too well, as Irving dropped a bombshell by requesting a trade. His wish was granted, as he was sent to Dallas in exchange for ... [More]
Fri Feb 3 202316:42Cameron Johnson Ruled Out On Friday Against Boston
Phoenix Suns forward Cameron Johnson (knee) will miss Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics due to right knee injury management. Essentially, this is coming as just a rest day, so he should only be seeing a one-game absence. Johnson has delivered some much-needed value to fantasy teams in the form of points, threes, and rebounds over the seven games since he's been back. While he's sidelined, Dario Saric could be a solid streaming option.

Sun Jan 22 202316:23Cameron Johnson Removed From Injury Report
Phoenix Suns guard Cameron Johnson (knee) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Johnson made his return to the court on Thursday after undergoing knee surgery earlier in the season. The plan all along was for Johnson to sit out on Saturday and play on Sunday. It's uncertain whether Johnson is going to start or come off the bench. Regardless, Johnson is likely going to be limited until he gets back to full speed. That being said, fantasy managers are going to have to be patient with Johnson.
