Price missed all four of the shots he attempted in his third start of the season.

Price's only statistical output came on two assist and a steal in 17 minutes of action. In his two previous starts, Price averaged just 2.5 points on 22.2 percent shooting and 4.5 assists. Meanwhile, Jeremy Lin came off the bench and finished the game with 14 points and eight assists.

Price scored two points (1-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt) and added two rebounds, six assists and two steals in 20 minutes of action against the Kings on Tuesday.

This was not a great game for Price. In fact, in both of his starts his performances have been underwhelming. He played less minutes than Jeremy Lin, who was moved to a reserve role earlier this week. Neither of the two have played well and as a whole this Lakers' point guard position can be avoided for the short term for fantasy purposes - at least until one the two players decides to take hold of the position and produce.

The decision to name Price the starter over Jeremy Lin was a surprising one to say the least and Price hardly proved it to be the correct one with his tepid performance. It's unlikely that Price retains the job for the duration of the month, let alone the season and his value remains limited to deeper leagues.

Price will be moved into the starting lineup Sunday against the Pelicans.

Coach Brian Shaw decided to move Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer out of the starting lineup Sunday in lieu of Price and Ed Davis. However, it would be surprising if this was the starting lineup in the long-term, although Sunday's performance against the Pelicans may be the determining factor for future decisions.

Given Price has failed to hit a single field goal in five of his last seven games, the 11 points is more the exception that proves the rule and should only be considered in the deepest of leagues.

Price has been suspended one game for his flagrant 2 foul on the Pelicans' Austin Rives on Wednesday night, Bill Oram of the OC Register reports.

Price was ejected after playing 17 minutes Wednesday, and he'll miss Friday's game against the Spurs. Through eight games, the veteran is averaging 21.0 minutes, by far the highest of his career. However, he's shooting just 28.2 percent from the field, so he's hardly a fantasy consideration.

Price was ejected for a flagrant foul committed against Austin Rivers during Wednesday's loss after playing 17 minutes and scoring zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt), with three assists, two rebounds and one steal.

The flagrant foul didn't look like much at full speed, but after watching the highlights, you'll see that it was a pretty dirty shot. Price doesn't hold much fantasy value except for in the deeper leagues, but he may be a player that the Lakers could use more moving forward if they continue to struggle.

Price had a season high eight assists in just 18 minutes Sunday in the Lakers' first win of the season, adding seven points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, and three steals.

Price has been Jeremy Lin's primary backup all season and would become a fantasy relevant player if anything were to happen to Lin, but for the time being, his value is limited to deeper leagues. Still, if you are in desperate need of assists to help you win a head-to-head matchup, Price is averaging 4.8 dimes in just 22 minutes this season.

That's back to back 10 assist games for Price who was starting due to injuries to Steven Nash (back), Jordan Clarkson (calf), and Jeremy Lin (ankle), who is now back. He's also shot a combined 4-of-17 in those two starts and his only value would be in assists if the injury bug continues it's way through the point guard depth.

Price scored just six points (2-10 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), but had two rebounds, 10 assists, four steals and one block in 38 minutes as the Lakers' starting point guard Sunday.

With Jeremy Lin (ankles), Steve Nash (back), and Jordan Clarkson (calf) all sitting, Price was the Lakers' only point guard option and racked up stats because of it. He's currently playing on a non-guaranteed deal, but seems likely to make the final roster out of training camp. His fantasy value, however, is only standard league relevant if the Lakers find themselves in an injury quandary like they do right now.

Price got the nod at point guard Thursday, eight points (4-7 FG) with one rebound, two assists, two steals, and one block in 27 minutes.

With Steve Nash (back), Jordan Clarkson (calf), and Jeremy Lin (ankle) all out, coach Byron Scott had little choice but to go with Price as his starting guard. He's not likely to have any standard league value this season, unless all three point guards above him on the depth chart remain injured for significant time.

Price, signed recently on a non-guaranteed training camp deal will have to battle fellow point guards Steve Nash, Jeremy Lin, and rookie second-rounder Jordan Clarkson for minutes. Scott has impressed the coaching staff with his work ethic and understanding of the offense, but will find it hard to make the roster and even if he does, his fantasy value will be minimal.

Price signed with the Lakers on Wednesday.

Price will be joining his sixth team as he enters the 10th year of his NBA career. In 31 games (two starts) for the Magic last season, Price managed 2.4 points and 2.1 assists in just 12.2 minutes of play. In signing with the Lakers, Price completes Los Angeles' 15-man roster in advance of training camp.
