Ackley is back in the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Ackley will cover center field and bat eighth in the order after spending the first two games of the series on the bench. The outfielder owns a .226 on-base percentage for the season and will only have a tougher time picking up consistent at-bats once Austin Jackson (ankle) returns from the DL.

Ackley is not in the starting lineup Saturday against Toronto left-hander Mark Buehrle, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners have not started Ackley against a left-handed starter yet this season, so it's safe to consider this a strict platoon. The Mariners will use Justin Ruggiano in center field Saturday while Rickie Weeks draws into the lineup to play left.

Ackley will sit in favor of Rickie Weeks, who will make his first career regular-season appearance in left field and bat leadoff for the second time this season.

With lefty C.J. Wilson on the mound, Ackley (along with Seth Smith) will sit, with Nelson Cruz moving to right field, Justin Ruggiano taking over in left field and Rickie Weeks starting at DH. While Ackley can be a serviceable option when he's in the lineup against righties, the expectation should be that he will sit whenever the opposing team's starting pitcher is a lefty.

Last year he homered in his fifth game, but it took him more than a month to hit his next one. Hopefully, he finds more consistency this season. Ackley could be benched Tuesday, though, for Rickie Weeks as the Mariners are scheduled to face a left-handed starter.
