Adam Dunn went 1-for-2 with a solo home run against the Cubs on Thursday.

Dunn belted his first spring homer in the ninth inning off of Wesley Wright. The slugger has had a forgettable spring and, at 34 years old, his numbers appear to be trending south. He can still be penciled in for close to 30 homers, but not much else.

They also have Alejandro De Aza and Dayan Viciedo to handle left field, but Ventura is apparently interested in giving Dunn some innings in the outfield. Buster Olney of ESPN believes that the White Sox have created a logjam at first base and designated hitter, and that Adam Dunn could wind up being the odd man out and put on the trading block.

Jose Abreu is clearly the team's future at first base, and Paul Konerko isn't going anywhere else for his farewell tour. That leaves Dunn as a strong candidate to be dealt unless the White Sox are planning on platooning he and Konerko. Until the situation is resolved, Dunn's fantasy value is limited.

He's at .235 right now, which is a huge improvement considering he finished May at .156 and didn't get over .200 for good until July 4.
