Wed Jun 16 201000:07Nats still expect Flores back this season
Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said that Jesus Flores (shoulder) is expected back at some point this season.
"[Flores] has to catch nine innings and be able to throw well before he [starts a rehab assignment]," said Rizzo. Flores has faced numerous setbacks while rehabbing his surgically-repaired right elbow. It was a real head-scratcher at the time, but the Nationals have gotten fine production out of Ivan Rodriguez up until this point. As such, they have little reason to rush the young backstop.

Thu Jun 10 201011:26Flores (shoulder) playing in simulated games
Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said that Jesus Flores (shoulder) is currently playing in simulated games where he is hitting live pitching and throwing to second base.
This represents a modest bit of progress, as Flores was unable to throw past the pitcher last month. That being said, Rizzo declined to offer a timetable on his return.

Tue May 11 201012:57Flores 'weeks away' from minors games
Nationals GM Mike Rizzo said last week that catcher Jesus Flores (shoulder) is a "few weeks away" from beginning a rehab assignment.
Flores was cleared to begin a throwing program back in mid-April and should be participating in mot baseball activities by now. The Nationals are keeping his status under wraps, but we're thinking he should return by early June. Ivan Rodriguez will continue to start most days at catcher.

Mon Apr 12 201014:26Flores (shoulder) cleared to begin throwing
Jesus Flores (shoulder) has been cleared to begin a throwing program.
Flores was limited during spring training because of his surgically-repaired right shoulder, spending the latter part of camp rehabbing with Dr. James Andrews' personal therapist. Now that he's been cleared, the throwing program is expected to last 4-6 weeks. He's also expected to swing a bat during that time. It's nice to hear he's making incremental progress, but he's nowhere close to returning to the Nationals' lineup. Ivan Rodriguez will continue to start behind the dish.

Sun Apr 4 201014:20Nationals placed C Flores on 60-day DL
Nationals placed C Jesus Flores on the 60-day disabled list with a sore shoulder.
There's been little news about Flores' visit with Dr. James Andrews late in spring training, and despite the move to the 60-day DL, there is no timetable for his rehabilitation. Flores is still interesting as a long-term prospect because of his power and position, but if this injury continues to linger as it has, his stock will continue to drop.
