Thu Apr 19 201212:17Amukamara says he's still not 100 percent
Giants CB Prince Amukamara says he's still not 100 percent recovered from the left foot injury that plagued his rookie year.
Amukamara broke a bone in the foot last August. This March, he underwent an "injection procedure" to promote healing and is only able to lift weights in the Giants' offseason conditioning program. He expects to be running in "a couple weeks," however, and should be healthy by the time training camp starts.

Mon Mar 19 201210:43CB Amukamara on crutches
Giants CB Prince Amukamara is on crutches after having an "injection procedure to promote healing" in the left foot that held him out for a large chunk of 2011.
The Giants' first-round pick last season, Amukamara was limited to just nine games (including the playoffs) after breaking his foot during training camp. He's likely questionable for OTAs, but there's been nothing to suggest he won't be ready for training camp. Amukamara should open the year third on the depth chart behind Terrell Thomas and Corey Webster.

Sat Dec 31 201119:21Giants looking to get Amukamara more involved
Giants rookie CB Prince Amukamara is expected to see an expanded role in the NFC East title game after putting in a good week of practice.
Amukamara was benched in the second quarter of Week 15 against Washington and played just six snaps in last week's game against the Jets. The Giants are planning to get him more involved in their nickel and dime packages, behind starters Corey Webster and Aaron Ross. In his previous matchup with Dallas, Amukamara was a liability on defense and struggled in his coverage of Laurent Robinson. After fracturing his foot in training camp, he has been active for just six games this season.

Sun Dec 18 201122:04Prince Amukamara benched in Week 15
CB Prince Amukamara was benched in the Giants' Week 15 loss to the Redskins.
Rex Grossman picked on Amukamara in the first half, so the coaches told him they were "going with a different package" in the second half. It comes on the heels of Amukamara getting toasted by Laurent Robinson for a 74-yard pass in Week 14. It's been a rough rookie campaign for the No. 19 overall pick, especially after fracturing his foot in training camp.

Giants CB Prince Amukamara (foot) is not expected to play on Sunday against the Niners.
Coaches continue to see him limping in practices, despite Amukamara's declarations that he is okay. DB Michael Coe filled in well last week, and projects as a better fit against the Niners' run-dominant offense.

The Giants are expected to hold first-round CB Prince Amukamara (foot) back for one more week.
Amukamara made a splash play in Thursday's practice, breaking up an Eli Manning laser pass. Coach Tom Coughlin indicated that Amukamara remains "a limited guy who is just getting on the practice field," so the Giants will aim for next week's game against the Patriots instead.

Giants CB Prince Amukamara (foot) said he's on schedule to return to practice after the Giants' Week 7 bye.
Amukamara participated in a few drills Wednesday for the first time since he broke his foot on August 6. He's still feeling soreness after workouts, but that's natural. The No. 19 overall pick should be ready to contribute by Week 8.

Wed Sep 28 201111:32Prince Amukamara still a ways off
Coach Tom Coughlin said CB Prince Amukamara (foot) is still "a ways" away from returning.

Fri Sep 23 201111:08Amukamara graduates to cornerback drills
Giants CB Prince Amukamara has begun doing cornerback drills in this week's practices.
"I don't feel pain at all but right now," Amukamara said, but cautioned that he's still "timid and hesitant, it's pretty awkward right now." The Giants seem to be targeting an early October return for Amukamara. Fill-in starter Aaron Ross was benched during Monday night's game, so Amukamara could have a major role by mid-season.

Giants first-round pick Prince Amukamara has finally shed his walking boot after an early-August left foot fracture.
He's begun to do light work on the side of practice, but is still probably multiple weeks away from a return to game action. The Newark Star-Ledger suggests Amukamara will be back, "perhaps later this month or in early October."

Wed Aug 24 201109:11Amukamara to return Week 5?
Giants GM Jerry Reese said he expects first-round CB Prince Amukamara (foot) to return in Week 5.
Amukamara had a pin inserted in his foot to stabilize the fractured bone. He's expecting to ditch his cast and scooter in about two weeks, right around the Giants' season opener. With Terrell Thomas (ACL) and Bruce Johnson (ruptured Achilles) out for the season, Amukamara will be thrown into the fire as soon as he is ready.

Sat Aug 6 201121:39Giants rookie Amukamara out with broken foot
Giants first-round CB Prince Amukamara is out indefinitely after fracturing the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
The injury will require surgery, putting Amukamara's rookie season in jeopardy. Tackle Will Beatty missed two months with the same injury last season. As the last of the first-round picks to sign, Amukamara had just begun practicing. With nickelback Bruce Johnson (torn Achilles') also out, Aaron Ross is out of the doghouse and into the spotlight in a depleted secondary.
