Wed Dec 11 201315:08Marlins acquire Carter Capps for Morrison
Marlins acquired RHP Carter Capps from the Mariners for 1B Logan Morrison.
It's not a great return for LoMo, though the Marlins probably weren't expecting much after the way his career flat-lined in Miami. Capps posted an ugly 5.49 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 59 innings this past season with Seattle. He'll serve as a setup man for the Marlins.

He'll replace Tom Wilhelmsen in the Mariners' bullpen. Capps has an ugly 6.37 ERA in 33 appearances this season, but owns a 42/12 K/BB ratio over 35 1/3 innings.

Thu Jul 11 201313:01Mariners option Carter Capps to AAA Tacoma
Mariners optioned RHP Carter Capps to Triple-A Tacoma.
Capps has good raw stuff but has registered a disappointing 6.37 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in 35 1/3 innings this season despite a cool 42/12 K/BB ratio. The young right-hander will work on his craft at the Triple-A level.

Wed Jun 26 201301:54Carter Capps gives up two more homers
Carter Capps gave up a pair of homers Tuesday against the Pirates and has now allowed 10 runs in his last four appearances.
It's taken his ERA from 3.54 to 5.97, and he's now in serious danger of being sent down. Capps was supposed to emerge as the No. 2 man in Seattle's pen this year, and with 40 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings, he's still showing that kind of potential. He's a mess right now, though.

Wed Apr 17 201320:39Carter Capps will be setup man
Mariners manager Eric Wedge said he'll likely use Carter Capps as the setup man to Tom Wilhelmsen while Stephen Pryor is on the disabled list.
Capps has been knocked around the last two times out and has a 7.71 ERA and 1.86 WHIP, but he's also struck out 10 over seven innings and possesses a great arm. Wilhelmsen is off to a great start and has plenty of job security, but Capps might be worth a stash in AL-only formats.
