Hagadone, who was acquired from the Red Sox two years ago as part of the Victor Martinez deal, has been moved to the bullpen full-time this season due to injury and control problems. He's thrived, posting a 2.74 ERA and 75/22 K/BB ratio over 69 relief innings between Double- and Triple-A. He'll likely be used in a middle relief role initially. | ||||||

The Indians viewed Hagadone as being at least as important as Justin Masterson in the Victor Martinez deal with the Red Sox two years ago, but command woes got the left-hander sent to the bullpen in the second half of last season. Things are looking up so far this year, as he hasn't issued a single walk while pitching six scoreless innings for Akron. It will be interesting to see whether the Indians keep him in the pen, potentially allowing him to contribute this year, or if they try him once more as a starter. | ||||||
