Sun Aug 29 202122:02Jarred Kelenic Launches Homer Against Royals
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic broke an 11-game homerless streak Sunday, launching a solo shot off Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Brady Singer. It was his seventh of the year and his only hit on the day, and he also drew a walk in four plate appearances. Kelenic now has hits in five of his last six games, offering some hope to fantasy managers, but he's most likely on benches or waiver wires in all formats at this point. With just a .524 OPS in 224 at-bats on the year, he only needs to be rostered in keeper and dynasty leagues.

Wed Aug 25 202100:16Jarred Kelenic Drives In Two Tuesday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic drove in two runs against the Oakland Athletics Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Kelenic now has back-to-back games with a hit after going six straight without one. His .403 slugging percentage and three homers in August are his best in a month this season, which underscores the struggles he's endured in his rookie campaign. Kelenic is best left to keeper and dynasty formats at this point.

Sat Aug 21 202100:53Jarred Kelenic Wears Golden Sombrero
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic returned from a day off Friday, but didn't appear to be reaping the rewards of the extra rest, going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts against the Houston Astros. Kelenic has shown signs of life of late, but he still has just a .516 OPS for the season and has struck out in 61 of his 191 at-bats. He's a stronger fantasy investment in keeper and dynasty leagues.

Thu Aug 19 202112:34Jarred Kelenic Taking A Seat On Thursday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic is absent from the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Spencer Howard and the Texas Rangers. Jake Fraley is rotating over to center field for the game while Dylan Moore is starting in left field. Kelenic has had a rocky rookie year so far to say the least, but he's enjoyed some success at the plate in August. He has three home runs so far this month and he's shown some solid plate discipline with nine strikeouts compared to 10 walks. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can leave him on the waiver wire for now, but be ready to jump on him if he heats up.

Sun Aug 15 202111:27Jarred Kelenic Hits Opposite-Field Home Run
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic went deep for the sixth time Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays, lining a Trevor Richards pitch over the left-field wall. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Kelenic has been surging of late, with his adjustment clear to see. He'd been pounded away by right-handed pitching, and this home run is yet another sign that Kelenic knows how he's being attacked. With an .895 OPS and four homers in his last 15 games, now is the time to add Kelenic if frustrated fantasy managers have moved on from him.

Sat Aug 14 202111:44Jarred Kelenic Doubles, Drives In A Run
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic had another solid game Friday night, going 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. The walk, a true walk-off, came in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded, bringing in the winning run. Kelenic has started to turn things around of late, slashing .241/.333/.481 with three home runs in 54 at-bats over his last 15 games. While Kelenic should be universally rostered in keeper and dynasty formats, this would be a good time to look to pick him up in redraft formats while he's on the rise.

Sun Aug 8 202100:42Jarred Kelenic Doubles Twice Saturday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic had yet another strong game Saturday, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Both doubles came off the left-handed Andrew Heaney. It's hard to ignore that Kelenic seems to be kicking things into gear, as he now has a .280/.379/.600 slash line over his last seven games. If any impatient fantasy managers moved on from him, Kelenic is a clear add for the rest of the season. He'll have ample playing time, leading to an opportunity to be an all-category contributor.

Fri Aug 6 202100:31Jarred Kelenic Homers Thursday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic took advantage of the short dimensions in right field at Yankee Stadium Thursday, hitting a home run that would not have been out of any other major league park. He went 2-for-3 with the homer, a walk, and two runs scored. Kelenic now has five home runs on the year, and he's been excellent over his past seven games with a .269/.367/.615 slash line. It's taken some time to make the adjustment, but Kelenic figures to be coming into his own just in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Wed Aug 4 202101:42Jarred Kelenic Smacks Fourth Homer
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic smacked his fourth home run of the season to dead center field off Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Luis Patino Tuesday, his only hit in four at-bats. He was also caught attempting to steal second base in the eighth inning, his second time being caught in five attempts. Kelenic has started to come around, with a .259/.355/.481 slash line, two homers, and nine RBI in his last seven games. He has all the talent in the world, and he could be a game-changer for fantasy managers if he can keep this up through the end of the season.

Sun Aug 1 202121:37Jarred Kelenic Reaches Three Times Sunday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic had a solid day at the plate against the Texas Rangers Sunday, going 1-for-2 with two walks. He still has a truly dismal .420 OPS in 137 at-bats on the season, but he's now reached base multiple times in three of his last five games. Fantasy managers in dynasty and keeper formats will be holding Kelenic no matter what, but he's less of a sure thing in redraft setups. He may be worth a speculative add to see if his recent adjustments lead to more success.

Sat Jul 31 202102:55Joey Votto homers for 7th straight game, 1 shy of MLB record
NEW YORK (AP) — Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game, one shy of a major league record, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night. Jonathan India went deep twice for the Reds, including a leadoff shot that came on Carlos Carrasco’s first pitch with the Mets. Acquired from Cleveland in January, the veteran right-hander finally made his New York debut after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was an up-and-down day for the Mets, who made a big deal to get Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs before baseball’s trade deadline — and then revealed injured ace Jacob deGrom will be shut down for two more weeks because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, making it unlikely he’ll rejoin the NL East leaders before September. Báez was acquired from the Cubs along with right-hander Trevor Williams for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft. Báez is expected to join the Mets on Saturday and will play shortstop... [More]

Fri Jul 30 202123:56Jarred Kelenic Homers, Drives In Four Friday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic provided much of the offense Friday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs scored. His three-run shot off Texas Rangers starting pitcher Kolby Allard was just his third of the season. Kelenic spoke of making some adjustments to his stance coming out of the break, and he's now had two multi-hit games in his last three starts. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues may be getting impatient for more production, but there's just too much upside to drop him from rosters.

Wed Jul 28 202114:44Jarred Kelenic Drives In Two
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic has had a simply dismal rookie campaign to this point, slashing .115/.200/.180 in his first 34 games and 122 at-bats, but he showed signs of life Tuesday night, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored, not to mention a sparkling catch in center field to start a double play. It's Kelenic's second multi-RBI game of his career. He has plenty of ability, so fantasy managers have to be hoping he's finally making the adjustments necessary to have success. Fantasy managers in dynasty and keeper leagues should absolutely hold, but in redraft leagues, there may be better options out there.
