He had a combined 3.15 ERA and 1.25 WHIP last year despite a 4.0 BB/9 rate.

The Cards drafted Tuivailala as a shortstop in 2010, but he didn't stick as a position player. Featuring a plus arm, Tuivailala made the move to the mound in 2012 and now has a 170:60 K:BB over 108.1 innings. With a fastball that sits between 98-101 mph, he'll just need to refine his command in order to become a dominant late-inning reliever at the big league level. The Cards are expected to add him to the 40-man roster this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft in December.
