It was the first time in 93 major league games that Saladino has reached base four times. Saladino walked in the second and singled in the fourth before he capped a three-run sixth by the White Sox by walking with two outs, stealing second and third base on consecutive pitches and scoring on a single by C Dioner Navarro. With one out in the eighth, Saladino hit a long two-run homer for his second homer in his last three games. He is batting .290 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 69 at-bats this season.

Saladino will bat leadoff Wednesday against the Twins, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The 26-year-old will be afforded his first career start atop the order, with regular leadoff man Adam Eaton out of the lineup against lefty Tommy Milone. Saladino, who has hit primarily out of the two-hole, has collected four hits in his last three games after going 0-for-12 in his previous four starts.

The third base position has been a trouble spot for the White Sox over the past few seasons and it's not getting much better with Saladino. Unfortunately, he provides very little upside and almost no fantasy value. In 43 games played this season, Saladino is batting just .213 with an OBP of .268 and a SLG of .324. It's surprising that Robin Ventura continues to bat him second in the order, and it's one of many questionable decisions that may lead to him looking for a new job in the offseason.

Saladino is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

Saladino went just 1-for-11 over his last three games, so manager Robin Ventura decided to give him a day off. Gordon Beckham will man the hot corner for the White Sox in Saladino's place.

Saladino now has five hits, including three RBI and two runs scored over his last two games. He has found a nice lineup spot for the Sox, batting second in front of Melky Cabrera and Jose Abreu. Look for him to continue to be marginally productive for the remainder of the season.
