Wed Sep 4 201319:07Jarrod Parker picks up ninth straight win
Jarrod Parker allowed two runs over six innings Wednesday in Oakland's 11-4 drubbing of the Rangers.
Parker lost out on AL Pitcher of the Month honors despite having just as good of a case as Ivan Nova, but it was a pretty good day for him anyway. He's won nine straight decisions since opening the season 2-6, and the A's have won seven of his last eight starts. His ERA is all of the way down to 3.57 after his abysmal start (he was at 7.36 through the end of April).

Jarrod Parker was charged with three earned runs in seven-plus innings Friday against the Rays.
Parker took a 3-1 lead into the eighth, when he allowed a single and a walk to start the inning. Ryan Cook came in, allowed both runners to score and then got credit for the win after the A's went back ahead in the bottom of the inning. Parker seemed a bit more deserving to us.

Sun Jul 28 201319:53Parker allows six runs in no-decision win
Jarrod Parker allowed six runs on five hits and seven walks in a no-decision win against the Angels on Sunday.
Luckily, Parker's offense picked him up, tacking 10 runs on the Angels. Parker hasn't factored into the decision in each of his last six starts and hasn't suffered a loss since May 22, a span of 11 outings. Parker enjoyed a 2.08 ERA in June and entered Sunday with a 2.70 ERA in July, so we aren't concerned with today's dud, even if it was troubling to continually watch the youngster miss the plate.

Jarrod Parker's (hamstring) next start has been pushed back to Saturday.
Parker is still feeling a little something in his right hamstring, so the A's are playing it safe and backing him up a couple days. Dan Straily will get the ball on Thursday in his place, which means Sonny Gray is staying put at Triple-A for now.

Jarrod Parker still felt something in his right hamstring during a bullpen session Tuesday.
The A's will wait to see how he feels Wednesday before deciding on Thursday's start, but there would seem to be a pretty good chance he'll be scratched. Dan Straily seems likely to be Parker's replacement if one is needed.
