Thu Sep 2 202108:14Max Muncy Breaks Out Of Slump, Hits 30th Home Run
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy continued his impressive season in Wednesday's victory versus the Atlanta Braves. Muncy went 2-for-4 with a triple and solo home run. His home run in the bottom of the first inning gave the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead. The versatile infielder has been having an excellent season for the Dodgers and he is now hitting .261 with 30 home runs and 78 RBI. Muncy generally hits near the top of the Dodgers batting order and he should continue to score plenty of runs and also drive in his fair share. Muncy was struggling entering the game, but he is just too talented to avoid starting and hopefully Wednesday's performance is what gets him back on track.

Wed Aug 25 202113:29Max Muncy Hitless Over His Last Three Games
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy has been slumping a bit at the plate so far in August. He's hitting just .203 this month and he's gone 0-for-11 over his last three games. However, he has still been producing solid power numbers as he has six home runs and a .522 slugging percentage in August. Muncy, who turns 31 years old today, has been one of the Dodgers' top hitters throughout the year and many of his underlying stats support his strong production. He ranks in the 98th percentile in xwOBA (.417) and in the 97th percentile in xSLG (.575). He has shown elite plate discipline this year, demonstrated by his 15.4% walk rate, which ranks in the 98th percentile, and his 15.1% chase rate, which ranks in the 99th percentile.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Max Muncy went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's victory versus the Philadelphia Phillies. ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Aaron Judge went from being a late scratch to hitting a tiebreaking single in a two-run 10th inning to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the second straight day, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Judge was taken out of the lineup about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not yet been announced and was subject to approval of medical records of the players involved. Sun Jul 18 202101:01Shooting outside Nationals Park halts Padres-Washington game
WASHINGTON (AP) — The game between the San Diego Padres and Washington was suspended in the sixth inning Saturday night after police said there was a shooting outside Nationals Park. The shooting, an exchange of gunfire between people in two cars, left three people injured, according to Ashan Benedict, the Metropolitan Police Department’s executive assistant police chief. One of the people who was shot was a woman who was attending the game and who was struck while she was outside the stadium, he said. Her injuries weren’t considered life-threatening. Two people who were in one of the cars later walked into a local hospital with gunshot wounds and were being questioned by investigators, Benedict said, and the extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately clear. Investigators were still trying to locate the second vehicle involved in the shooting. The gunshots caused panic among fans inside the stadium, some of whom ducked for cover, hiding underneath tables and behind seats as announcers... [More]

Sat Jul 17 202123:41Shooting outside Nationals Park halts Padres-Washington game
WASHINGTON (AP) — The game between the San Diego Padres and Washington was suspended in the sixth inning Saturday night after police said there was a shooting outside Nationals Park. Washington police later tweeted that “two additional victims associated with this incident walked into area hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds.” The Padres had just taken the field for the bottom of the sixth when several loud pops were heard from the left field side of the ballpark. Fans sitting in left field quickly began leaving through the center field gate. A short time later, fans along the first base side began briskly leaving their seats. Some fans crowded into the Padres’ dugout on the third base side for safety. The Padres led 8-4 when the game was halted. It will be resumed Sunday afternoon, followed... [More]
Thu Jul 15 202111:50Injury-plagued Dodgers keeping close in bid to repeat title
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers waited 32 years to win the World Series again. The road to a repeat championship is never easy, and they head into the second half of the season hoping the worst of the bumps along the way are behind them. A suspended starting pitcher, injuries and offensive struggles have conspired against them. It’s the first time since 2016 the Dodgers haven’t been in first place at the All-Star break. But they're close. At 56-35, they have the second-most wins in the majors behind the rival San Francisco Giants (57-32). LA trails the first-place Giants by two games in the NL West, a division the Dodgers have won eight consecutive years. “Considering what all we’ve been through, I’d say it’s pretty good,” All-Star first baseman Max Muncy said. “We haven’t played anywhere near the caliber that we are capable of playing.” During one stretch, the Dodgers went 5-15. Injuries have knocked out starters Clayton Kershaw and Dustin May and shortstop Corey Seager, among... [More]
