RF Jose Bautista made his 11th start at DH as he singled and lifted a sacrifice fly in two appearances in the win over the Yankees. He finished with a .203 average, the lowest single-season batting average in team history. The previous low was when 2B Aaron Hill batted .205 during the 2010 season. Bautista finished with 23 homers and 65 RBIs and it might have been his final game for the Blue Jays. He re-signed with Toronto in January on a one-year deal with an option for next season. Asked what's next, Bautista said: "I don't look at the numbers too much. I can't change them. Other than just get ready for next season and be ready to contribute to the team that I'm with at that time. Right now, I'm a Toronto Blue Jay. That hasn't changed. I've said it all along, this is where I want to be and finish my career. We'll see what happens. It's out of my control right now."

RF Jose Bautista entered the 9-5 win over the New York Yankees in a 0-for-18 drought and singled on the first pitch to him in the first inning. He went on to go 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. The Blue Jays' home season finale could have been his last home game with Toronto as the club seems unlikely to pick up his $17-million option for 2018, making him a free agent. He was given standing ovations for every at-bat as well as when he came onto the field and then was replaced defensively with one out in the ninth. "A lot of good emotions," Bautista said. "It's good to be recognized and it's good to feel the love and I appreciate everything that happened today. It is a possibility that I may not be back. Those decisions will be made and we'll see what happens."
