Norichika Aoki's two-run triple in the second inning accounted for all of the Mariners' runs in their 2-1 victory. Aoki's hit was one of just three hits the Mariners had in the game. "We needed one hit there, and we got one," said manager Scott Servais. The Mariners have hit two triples this season, both by Aoki.

LF Nori Aoki's $5.5 million contract option was declined by the Giants on Nov. 4, making him a free agent. Aoki received a $700,000 buyout. He did pretty much what he was expected to do after signing with the club last winter, hitting .287, slotting pretty much wherever manager Bruce Bochy needed him in the order, and playing a solid left field. He missed a month due to a broken leg, and he was shut down in September due to a concussion.

Aoki (concussion) has been shut down for the Giants' remaining two games of the season, the Associated Press reports.
The Giants reached the decision after Aoki traveled to Pittsburgh recently to meet with his doctor, who advised the outfielder to take more time off to recover. He'll finish his season with a .287 average, five homers, 26 RBI, and 14 stolen bases over 355 at-bats.

Tue Sep 29 201519:49Aoki may be able to pinch-hit in final series of season
Aoki, who is visiting a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, may be able to pinch-hit in the final series of the season, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.
He took swings off a tee Monday and an update on his status should come later this week. However, if he will only be able to get looks as a pinch-hitter in the final days of the season, his fantasy potential is extremely limited for the rest of 2015.

Manager Bruce Bochy stated that there is a chance that Aoki (concussion) does not play again in 2015, CSN Bay Area reports.
Aoki experienced a second wave of post-concussion symptoms from being hit in the head by a Jake Arrieta fastball a month ago. Originally, the team was hoping to get him back by the middle of September, but with the Dodgers pulling away in the division, there isn't cause for rushing Aoki back from a head injury. With the expanded 40-man rosters, the Giants do not necessarily need to place Aoki on the disabled list, but fantasy owners should treat him as if he was and look for other options if they were counting on his return.

Aoki will see a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh at some point over the next few days, Andrew Baggarly of CSN Bay Area reports.
Aoki has suffered multiple issues related to concussions this season, and most recently was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. Despite the new development, manager Bruce Bochy remains hopeful that Aoki will be able to return to the San Francisco outfield this season. Until he sees the specialist, however, Aoki will likely be without a clear timetable.

Aoki is expected to be out "a while" due to post-concussion syndrome, according to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle.
The 33-year-old spent a week on the concussion DL in mid-August, but returned to start each of the team's final 11 games of the month. His symptoms have reportedly resurfaced, however, and Aoki has been forced out of action yet again. It's uncertain if he'll make it back before the end of the season.
Sat Sep 5 201517:47Aoki not in lineup for Saturday's game against Rockies
Aoki is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.
Saturday's absence from the lineup marks Aoki's fourth straight. He sat the last three games with the Giants facing three consecutive left-handers, but he'll remain on the bench against right-hander Chad Bettis. Alejandro De Aza gets the start in left.
Fri Sep 4 201517:38Aoki not in lineup Friday against Rockies

Thu Sep 3 201518:15Aoki isn't in Thursday's lineup against Rockies
Aoki isn't in Thursday's lineup against the Rockies.
Aoki will receive an off day with the left-handed Chris Rusin toeing the rubber for the Rockies. As a result, the Giants will give Juan C. Perez the start in left field in his place, batting seventh for the Giants.
Tue Sep 1 201519:50Aoki not in lineup for Tuesday's game against Dodgers
Aoki is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
On the heels of a .208/.282/.390 month of August, Aoki will take a seat for the first game of September as trade acquisition Alejandro De Aza takes over in left field against right-hander Zack Greinke. Given Aoki's second-half struggles, it seems likely he will be limited to some sort of timeshare moving forward, and his opportunities to lead off will take a hit with Angel Pagan back on the roster.

Aoki led off Wednesday's win over the Cubs with a home run, his fifth of the season.
Aoki hasn't been the same player since injuring his leg on June 20. His .217 post-All-Star break average is indicative of his post-injury struggles. Still, Aoki is what you call a "professional hitter" and will likely right the ship again. As long as he continues to hit atop the lineup, then he is worth owning in most leagues.

Aoki went 1-for-3 with a walk and a steal in his return from the DL against the Pirates on Thursday.
He started in left field, and Aoki seems likely to hold down a near-everyday spot there, with Marlon Byrd likely playing right field most days. However, he'll need to stay healthy, as the 33-year-old's shown that he still has a lot of skills in this injury-shortened campaign.
