Alexi Ogando was diagnosed with inflammation in a nerve in his right shoulder.
The Rangers have sent the CT scans to Dr. James Andrews for further evaluation. Ogando hasn't officially been ruled out for his next start, but it appears likely he'll miss at least one turn. The good news is that his shoulder has responded to medication.

Alexi Ogando had a CT scan on his right shoulder Wednesday after complaining of soreness following Tuesday's start.
One of Ogando's two stints on the disabled list earlier this season was because of a shoulder issue. The results of the exam won't be known until Thursday, but you'd have to think he'll probably miss at least one start. Ross Wolf or Josh Lindblom would probably be the favorites to fill in if needed.

Alexi Ogando allowed four runs over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Brewers on Tuesday.
Ogando was victimized by the home run ball on Tuesday, as all four of the runs allowed came via the home run. In all, Ogando allowed six hits and two walks, striking out just three. The 6 1/3 innings was the longest start for Ogando since coming off the disabled list on July 23. His path gets easier his next time out, as he faces the Astros on Monday.

Alexi Ogando allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings in a win Wednesday against the Angels.
Ogando struck out four, the most punch outs he's managed in four starts since he was activated from the disabled list. In fact, Ogando has managed to pitch just 18 2/3 innings over those four outings. Although Ogando has a nice 3.28 ERA and 1.31 WHIP, he can't be trusted in mixed leagues at the moment.

Alexi Ogando was removed after allowing three runs in four innings and walking five Friday against the A's.
Ogando has managed to pitch just 13 2/3 innings in his first three starts back from the disabled list. With Colby Lewis perhaps 7-10 days away and Matt Harrison hopeful of returning at the end of the month, it's looking more and more like Ogando will finish the season in the bullpen.

Alexi Ogando lasted just 4 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Indians, yielding a run on six hits and two walks.
Though he only wound up allowing one run, it wasn't a pretty outing from the righty, as Ogando struck out just one and threw 92 pitches over the 4 2/3 frames. Ross Wolf came on to bail him out of a jam in the fifth, getting Asdrubal Cabrera to strike out. Ogando has allowed just four runs in his two starts since returning from the DL, but he's lasted a total of only 9 2/3 innings. He'll get the A's on the road next weekend.

Alexi Ogando allowed three runs in five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Tuesday.
It was Ogando's first start since June 5 so a bit of rust was to be expected, but in all it was a good first start for the right-hander. Ogando gave up six hits but didn't walk a batter, striking out just two. He'll carry a 3.13 ERA into a showdown against the Indians in Progressive Field on Sunday.

Ogando allowed three runs over two innings over the weekend in his first outing for Triple-A Round Rock. The right-hander has made just one start in the majors over the last eight weeks due to shoulder issues.

Alexi Ogando threw another bullpen session Tuesday but admitted that his right shoulder still isn't 100 percent.
"It's getting better but it's not there yet," Ogando said. "It's probably about 85 percent." Ogando will throw another bullpen session either on Thursday or Friday before being re-evaluated. Rangers manager Ron Washington said Wednesday that he expected Ogando back in 10-12 days, but it now appears possible that he'll be held out until after the All-Star break.

The Rangers are hoping he'll be ready to throw a bullpen session a few days after that. As long as he doesn't have any setbacks, Ogando seems likely to be ready for a rehab assignment around the end of June.
