Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Tuesday night's 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramirez took Cardinals starter, Adam Wainwright, deep in the fourth inning and it was the only damage done by the Indians. There may not be two American League players who differ more standing side-by-side than the Houston Astros' Jose Altuve and the New York Yankees' Aaron Judge.Altuve is a diminutive 5-foot-6. Judge is a giant at 6-7. But when it comes to the AL Most Valuable Player Award, the difference could be measured in angstroms. The members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America are sending in their votes right now for all of the major 2017 awards. There are some that will be, or should be, unanimous picks. How do you not give Judge the AL Rookie of the Year? Same goes in the National League for Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both were by far at the top of their classes when all was said and done.Below is our take on the deserving winners in each race. AL MVP isn't the only white-knuckler. In the AL, the Cy Young Award race between Boston's Chris Sale and Cleveland's Corey Kluber is tight, too. In the National League, the MVP, Cy Young and Manager of the Year are all worthy of great... Thu Apr 7 201622:57Indians hit the road with left field in flux
CLEVELAND -- The Indians will begin their first road trip, a six-game trip to Chicago and Tampa Bay, on Friday with their left field situation still in a state of flux. This is due to the injury to Michael Brantley, who is on the disabled list as he continues his recovery from offseason surgery on his right (non-throwing) shoulder. When Brantley will be activated off the DL is not certain. Indians officials declined to put any target date on his return, but the conventional wisdom is that he will likely be back sometime before the end of the month. Until then, Manager Terry Francona is faced with the challenge of making a daily decision on who should play left field. In the first two games of the season Francona used Marlon Byrd and Jose Ramirez as the starters in left field. Byrd was signed as a free agent halfway through spring training. In addition to Byrd, the other outfielders on the roster are Collin Cowgill, Rajai Davis, and Tyler Naquin. Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, a walk and two runs scored in a win over the Twins.
Ramirez had an epic bat flip on his homer that the Twins took exception to, but fantasy owners don't care. With that said, his fantasy value is minimal at this point, as he sits with a .222 average and .348 slugging percentage in his limited time.
Mon Sep 28 201516:09Ramirez scratched from Monday's lineup against Twins
Ramirez was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Twins.
Ramirez was initially slated to bat fifth and play third base, but Mike Aviles will assume the hot corner duties in the new lineup. It's unclear if the 23-year-old suffered a late setback, but the move may have been a reaction to a late pitching change by the Twins, switching from the right-handed Phil Hughes to southpaw Tommy Milone.

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 9-5 victory over the Royals.
The 23-year-old has had a rough season with the bat, but Saturday's performance was one of his best of the season. Ramirez's bat has been hot at the plate all month and is in the midst of a four-game stretch where he is hitting .421 (8-for-19) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, three RBI and six runs scored. His September average is also up to .333 after Saturday's effort, easily making it his most prolific month with the bat all season.

Ramirez will pick up a start at third base for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Tigers, MLive.com's Chris Iott reports.
Ramirez will be used at third base for the second time in three games, a sign that manager Terry Francona may be looking to replace Giovanny Urshela at that position. Regular starts had been more difficult to come by for Ramirez following Jason Kipnis' return from the DL, so if he can cut it defensively at third base, he may be in line for increased at-bats over the final few weeks.
Sun Aug 23 201510:41Ramirez not in lineup Sunday against Yankees
Ramirez is not in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.
Ramirez will once again come off the bench, despite the fact that regular second baseman Jason Kipnis is getting the day off. A .567 season OPS simply wasn't enough to earn the 22-year-old a consistent role down the stretch, as he will have now been held out three times in the last five games.

Ramirez will get the start at third base and hit eighth Saturday against the Yankees, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
This will mark the fourth different position Ramirez has played for the Indians this season as they look to test his ability to serve as a utility player going forward. With second base and shortstop eligibility already accounted for, his third base eligibility in more liberal formats may not come as much use, but the fact that the Indians are finding more ways to get him in the lineup figures to increase his value down the stretch.
Wed Aug 19 201522:39Ramirez got start in left field Wednesday
Ramirez got the start in left field Wednesday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
The return of Jason Kipnis has pushed Ramirez out of a regular spot in the lineup but he got a look in left field with Michael Brantley still limited to DH duties due to a balky shoulder. The Indians won't press Brantley into outfield duties so Ramirez could see further action in left field in the coming days.
