Tue Jan 29 201311:53Jason Kidd questionable to play Wednesday
Updating a previous item, Jason Kidd (back) is questionable to play on Wednesday.
Kidd's back injury is a "growing concern," and although Mike Woodson declared the veteran "fine," he's had issues with his back all season. If he sits, look for Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni and Iman Shumpert to play more minutes.

Tue Jan 29 201309:26Jason Kidd's bad back a 'growing concern'
Jason Kidd's bad back has become a "growing concern" for the Knicks.
Kidd was limited to just five minutes on Sunday after playing just 15 minutes the game before that. Mike Woodson insisted that Kidd was "fine" and he decided to rest him, but the Knicks haven't been the most forthcoming with injury reports throughout the season. Kidd is in the first year of a three-year deal. If he's out for an extended period, Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni and likely Iman Shumpert will be in line for more minutes.

Sun Jan 27 201320:02Jason Kidd resting back on back-to-back
Jason Kidd didn't start, or even come to the bench, for the second half of Sunday's game due to his lingering back issue, although the Knicks say he is just resting, and is not injured.
Kidd's value should take a hit with the return of Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert, although they are currently starting Shumpert at small forward and leaving Kidd at shooting guard. His gimpy back is a bit of a concern and Kidd is a candidate to be cut by owners looking to pick up a hot free agent. James White started the second half in his place.

Sun Jan 27 201317:13Jason Kidd will start again on Sunday
Jason Kidd (back) will start for the Knicks on Sunday against the Hawks.
He's coming off just the third game of his career without a point or an assist, so his value took a massive hit on Saturday. There are a lot of mouths to feed in the NY backcourt, so we'd need to see nice line out of Kidd to recommend him as an option in standard leagues.

Sat Jan 26 201321:59Jason Kidd does nothing in 15 minutes
Jason Kidd played through his sore back on Saturday and even started, but missed all three of his shots and didn't contribute much of anything in just 15 minutes.
Kidd is set to return to a bench role now that Iman Shumpert and Raymond Felton are healthy, meaning he is going to be dropped in a lot of fantasy leagues. He'll be better than this on most nights, but will struggle to maintain value coming off the bench.

Sat Jan 26 201311:17Jason Kidd will play Saturday, still starting
Jason Kidd (back) will play Saturday night and will remain in the starting lineup.
There will be no minutes restriction for Kidd and he plans to play Sunday, as well. However, Raymond Felton (pinkie) will return Saturday and coach Mike Woodson has admitted he will keep Kidd's minutes in check now that the Knicks are getting healthy. Owners who enjoyed a brief boost while Felton was hurt should expect Kidd's minutes and production to shrink starting Saturday.

Fri Jan 25 201313:44Jason Kidd (back) may not play on Saturday
Jason Kidd (back) may not play on Saturday.
It's a good opportunity to rest Kidd with Raymond Felton (pinkie) expected to return and Iman Shumpert now healthy. Kidd has been playing more minutes than the Knicks want him to, and Mike Woodson has already alluded to the fact that he's got to reduce the veteran's minutes.

Thu Jan 24 201314:26Mike Woodson clarifies Kidd-to-bench remarks
Mike Woodson says he hasn't made any definitive plans to bring Jason Kidd of the bench when Raymond Felton (pinkie) returns.
Woodson said Wednesday that Kidd would head to the bench "eventually," but clarified today that he just wants to manage the veteran PG in order to keep Kidd fresh for the playoffs. Regardless of who starts, expect Kidd, Iman Shumpert and Pablo Prigioni to be involved in some sort of timeshare that will hinder all of their fantasy values.

Thu Jan 24 201309:19Woodson to bring Kidd off bench eventually
Mike Woodson said the Knicks plan to bring Jason Kidd off the bench "eventually."
When Raymond Felton (pinkie) returns, he'll resume starting point guard duties, and it sounds like Iman Shumpert is the leading candidate to slide to the two-guard spot to have both Kidd and Pablo Prigioni off the bench.

Mon Jan 21 201318:13Jason Kidd posts nice line in loss to Nets
Jason Kidd had a big game on Monday, racking up 11 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, six steals, one block and zero turnovers in 35 minutes.
Kidd only had one assist, as the Knicks are using Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Pablo Prigioni to initiate the offense, but fantasy owners can hardly complain. He's been cold lately and is facing an imminent reduction in his playing time when Raymond Felton returns, so enjoy games like this while they last.

Mon Jan 21 201309:00Jason Kidd's minutes will be reduced soon
Jason Kidd's minutes will be reduced when Raymond Felton (pinkie) and Iman Shumpert (knee) can play more minutes.
Felton is out with an injury while Shumpert is still limited after just debuting last week. "But as time goes on he'll (Shumpert) start to eat some of those minutes up for me," Kidd said. "But also, when Ray [Felton] gets back, that definitely helps." Kidd is averaging 5.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 treys in January, but he's shooting just 34 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Sun Jan 13 201309:50Jason Kidd struggling w/ fatigue for Knicks
Jason Kidd has just eight points, three assists and six turnovers in his past two games, and Mike Woodson admitted he's overplaying his 39-year-old PG.
"From a coaching standpoint, I know it's not healthy and not good for him to play him all those minutes," said Woodson, "but I don't have a choice at this point." New York plays just one game this week, which is good news for the Knicks, though it does fantasy owners no favors. Despite his fatigue-induced slump, Kidd still has third-round value on the season in eight-cat roto leagues.

Thu Jan 10 201323:04Jason Kidd scores eight with two 3s
Jason Kidd played 31 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday and had eight points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
His assists have been surprisingly low in his last five games, averaging only 4.4 per game. Although, Kidd averaged 1.8 steals and 2.0 triples in that span, so his owners should keep him in their lineups.

Sat Jan 5 201321:57Jason Kidd hits five 3s w/ full line vs. ORL
After a few sub-par games, Jason Kidd posted a rounded line on Saturday with 15 points (5-of-8 from downtown), eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one turnover.
Kidd's defense on Jameer Nelson left much to be desired, but his perimeter shot finally went down and he filled his usual glue-guy role to perfection. With Raymond Felton (pinkie) still out for weeks, Kidd makes a very nice fantasy guard.

Thu Jan 3 201322:15Jason Kidd has a quiet five points vs. SA
Jason Kidd played just 21 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday and had five points, two rebounds, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.
He was coming off an even bigger dud, failing to score in Tuesday's loss to the Blazers. Kidd has still been posting plenty of steals, assists and 3-pointers to be worth owning in all leagues.

Tue Jan 1 201322:57Jason Kidd disappears in loss to Portland
Jason Kidd was awful on Tuesday, finishing with zero points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 33 minutes against Damain Lillard and the Blazers.
Blame this one on Lillard, who sure doesn't look like a rookie. Kidd is still a must-own player for as long as Raymond Felton is out, so don't cut him after tonight's disaster.

Mon Dec 31 201211:36Jason Kidd probable for Tuesday
Jason Kidd is listed as probable for Tuesday, but he's expected to play.
It's a "recovery day" for Kidd on Monday, and when you're a 39 year old point guard being relied on to do a lot with Raymond Felton (pinkie) out, there are going to be better days than others. We fully expect Kidd to play on Tuesday.

Sat Dec 29 201204:34Kidd posts a solid line against the Kings
Jason Kidd scored 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting (including four threes) with six rebounds, seven assists, and one block in Friday's loss to the Kings.
Kidd is going to post big lines for the next month or so, so sit back and enjoy the ride.

Thu Dec 27 201200:23Jason Kidd explodes as a must-own player
Jason Kidd started at point guard on Wednesday and scored 23 points with six rebounds, eight assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Suns.
Raymond Felton (pinkie) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks, so Kidd should turn a huge profit for fantasy owners. He'll have his issues in field goal shooting and we don't expect him to top 20 points with great regularity, but he has the upside of a PG1 in standard leagues. He needs to be owned in every single league.

Sun Dec 23 201220:02Jason Kidd scoreless, Knicks win anyway
The Knicks improved to 20-7 with a win over the Wolves on Sunday, despite Jason Kidd going scoreless in 34 minutes of action.
The beauty of J-Kidd's fantasy game is that he doesn't need to score to return early-round value. He wasn't great tonight, adding six rebounds, one assist, two steals and zero turnovers, but one look at this December averages will assuage his owners' fears -- 9.3 points, 2.5 threes, 5.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.7 steals and 0.6 blocks.
